I have replaced both surface lights on my microwave, but they still do not light. I think the problem may be in the cicuit board because all other functions work properly. I noticed that he light sockets were loose when the unscrewed the old bulbs. In fact one bulb separated from the base and I had to force it out and I noticed the socket had melted a bit. I think the board arc'ed and shorted out the power to the suface lights. Is it possible to replace the board?
We regularly repair these control board assemblies for only $32.50 nationwide, and that's much cheaper than replacing the board. For safety, disassembly and other info see http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk
