Lcd dark i'm on vacation and have no access to a manual.. my lcd is DARK! I can vaguely see a menu and can scroll down but have been unable to "brighten" my screen for normal viewing. Is there a simple button to push or place on the menu? Any suggestions? Thanks!!!

Use an eyeglass screwdriver to remove the back half of the case. (6 screws, 2 screws each on sides and bottom) When you remove it, the ribbon cable for its buttons comes out just by pulling. You now see the LCD (which is fine), its cable connection (lower right), its power connection (two wires on right). Either these wires have come unsoldered (easy to fix without microsoldering capability) or some part of the power supply for the LCD backlight is bad (very hard to fix, you probably need a new motherboard). When you put the case back on, first you have to plug in the ribbon cable - first open the tiny black plug lock out and around to the left, put the cable all the way in, then lock the black part back right and in. Screw the case back on and you're fine.

Check the pins on both end of the connector, make sure they're straight other wise, reposition it with fine long nose pliers. Make sure the connectors are push and screwed tight also. Let us know!

Hi there and welcome to FixYa.

Do your videos come out dark when you play them back? Or Is it dark while you are recording?
If it's dark while you are recording, is it dark in the viewfinder, or the LCD screen?

If your videos come out dark when you play them back, check the manual exposure. Hit the exposure button and turn the sel/push execute wheel to change the exposure to lighter.

If you are looking through the view finder to record and it's dark, check to make sure the window is clean.

If your LCD screen looks dark while your recording, put the power switch to player, hit the menu button and scroll down to LCD, select it and turn the select wheel to brighter.

I had to guess at what your problem was due to the information you provided, so I tried to cover the most obvious. If I failed to answer your question, please comment and be more specific.

Acer Travelmate LCD screen went dark

The same thing happened on my HP. I ended up buying a LCD screen off ebay. That corrected the problem. New screens cost $150+. You can get one off ebay for half the price.

Picture getting dark

My jvc 27" tv was so dark I could hardly see any night scenes, even with the bright all the way on. If you push the sleep button, let go, then hold down the video and display (together), the service menu will come on. Scroll down to #7 (too dark) and adjust the brightness there. Works immediately. Good luck.

hmmm curious why you would adjust convergance to adjust a dark picture?press menu button on remote and scroll down

are you have convergance problems?
convergance amp ic are know to go bad with this set.

I have a Casio Watch module #1189. It is a digital alarm chronograph. The battery went dead while sitting in a drawer for many months -maybe a couple years! So I replaced it with the same battery #CR2016. Now it still has no display. I double-checked the polarity and it is correct. I took the battery out and then replaced it several times. I checked the battery with a voltmeter -it reads 3V. The watch is clean inside, with no sign of corrosion like from a leaking battery, etc. The old battery showed no sign of leaking or corrosion. Is there a reset switch like to push a paper clip into to reset the watch? Your thoughts, please. Thanks in advance. Bob in Michigan.
