Amp keeps switching off
If the NAD C370 won't turn on or intermittently turns off it can be a problem with the protection circuit. It's a seperate module in the back of the amp. In most cases changing all electrolytic capasitor in the protection circuit will heal the amp. These capasitors are; C781, C783, C784 and C785.

Since the problem seems to be sensitive to the volume level, I would be looking at the output wave form for any DC current. Although the protection circuit should detect any DC present, it is possible that some is leaking through. Also, verify that the speaker impedence is correct. If the amp is seeing too low an impedence load, it will work too hard causing excessive heat which will shutdown the unit as well.
Keep me posted.

This sounds like a problem with the protection circuit, and/or the speaker relays. More specifically, a capacitor within those circuits that is not behaving properly. I strongly suggest having it looked at ASAP.

The AH may denote "slo-blo" style as opposed to Fast-acting
A fast-acting fuse will look like a single strand of wire ( maybe wiggly looking) ..A Slo-blo will have an element in it and a spring

Replace 3 capacitors on the protect printboard. (located near the outpt terminals) 50V electrolyt: 4,7uF, 47uf and 10uF. And move the big diode to the back of the printboard (the heat from the diode dries out the capacitors)
Work in 9/10 times ;)

over heating is a sign of overloading or over bias
