Model YTH20K46 connected battery poles to wrong wires...will not crank now

The link below for details of wiring. Assuming good connections at the battery and ground to frame. Your unit uses lots of 12v power for charging, lights and the electric clutch (must have good charging system to run this mower). There is a fuse between the amp meter and starter solenoid. If the fuse is open, the meter will not show charge or discharge. No start or even click would indicate that one of the safety cut-out switches is not engaging (seat, break/clutch etc.). Easy to test switches with meter (refer to wiring details at link below). The charging system is easy to test with meter. Once you get the engine running, test for 28volts ac (3600rpm) from two wires at the regulator (two wires from ac alterator under the flywheel of the engine). Then look for 12 to 14 volts dc at the output side of regulator. Good luck with repair
