I need an instruction manual for Maytag topload washer Neptune TL

FAV6800. It appears to have water remaining after some spin

Get the Service Manual this will help you diagnose issues with this washer.  I found a Service repair manual on this site search for this; FAV6800 Manual.  Check the postings and you will find a URL to the manual.

From another member a step by step to dump water from machine in diag mode  ""One other thing I learned for those of you who don’t want to bail out the water in the tub. If you want to have the machine drain the excess water without bailing this should work. Turn the machine off and make sure the "locked door" light goes off. Then hold the "Spin" and "Enviro Plus" buttons at the same time for 3 seconds. "00" should then show up on the display. Then hit the "Delicate" button, then the “Pre-soak” button. This should activate the pump and get all the water out. Once the water is out hit the off button. You then may want to try the Spin cycle alone. These directions can be found on the Troubleshooting Manual found folded up behind the rear panel of the machine where the main electrical circuit board is located.""

    That advice worked beautifully. But then what? Do I still need to check replacing the drain pump? Clearly it can drain. Also I can't find any clogs.

Maytag Neptune TL
The TL neptune has a small shock absorber on the middle left hand corner behind the front panel. it uses a small wiring clip that could be loose, with a type of inertia switch.
A common issue I've encountered with this machine is underloading. The snubber and springs allow a fair amount of movement. Don't do a few simple items or mixed load in this machine.

Maytag neptune washer is very loud when in the spin cycle
I would ask Washerbearings.com and see if they have a bearing and seal kit already or if they can make one up for you for the FAV6800 top loaders.

My washer fills with water then it makes a noise like there is something stuck and aggitator won't spin
You need the Service manual to start troubleshooting. There could be something jamed under the tumblers. The Service Manual will get you stareted,

My MAytag will not spin the water outta my clothes on spin cycle

If you machine is a FAV6800A or FAV9800A don't worry about the last two letters of the model number.

Enter / Exit Service Mode To enter Service Mode press the Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys (simultaneously) for three seconds or until the control beeps.

Neptune TL won't spin, continuously beeps through spin settings
if water remains in the tub it will not go into the spin cyc something in the pump clear it and try again
