Question about iLO MP3 Player
This is a pink 1gb player from walmart. the screen says ver 3.101.103 when plugged in to the computer. When viewed in windows explorer it says MTP Player instead of a drive name. Click on that and it has one subdirectory called Internal Storage. I had loaded this player with songs for my niece, then she asked me to put more on there, so i ran an mp3 resizer to reduce the file sizes (it stored these resized files to my hdd) when i started deleting the files, it got about 3/4 finished then suddenly returned the error: "(filename) could not be deleted. The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected." When I try to transfer a file to the player a similar error comes up. I have done the following: 1.Disconnect and reconnect the player. 2.Disconnect the player and remove the battery. 3.Reboot the computer. 4.Attempt to transfer the files with Windows Media Player 10 instead of drag-n-drop. All to no avail. There is not any other files on the player other than the songs, never was. Question: how do i flash the player with fresh firmware, and for that matter where do i get the firmware? I do not have the disk that came with the player, if there was one... Thanks.
The Walmart/Asda mp3 players in the uk have the same problem, I have the formatting software on the cdrom that came with it and it doesn't work 'Surprise'. The problem normally happens when you try to either upload mp3's more than one at a time or delete all at the same time causing a file the folder to become corrupt and stop everything. Is there possibly a factory reset menu on the player, if not you will have to search the internet for your manufacturer to see if they have an on-line formating tool.

Usually answered in minutes!
also tried to format it..it says "unable to complete format"
It will play the fils on there fine unplugged from the computer, but when i try to play the files with windows media player nothing happens..
i was able to fix this by unplugging the device, then plugging it back in, then, once windows xp sensed it it popped up a window asking if i wanted to open a folder to view it or sync it with windows media player. i selected sync it (before i was opening windows media player manually and trying to sync) and once windows media player opened, on the bottom right side there was a little button that said erase it or something like that, i clicked it, it erased it, then i was ablr to drag files into win media player and click sync. it worked!! thanks for trying to help...
