"E Machines" welcome screen

I'm so tired of seeing the big E Machines screen come up each time I boot the machine. Is there a place I can access and a way I can delete it from coming on with each boot?

Press F2 or Del during boot up and you will access the bios. You will have to look through the menus for something like 'logo on boot up' enable/dissable.

Windows will not load stuck on welcom screen any help with this? Please and thank you

Hi Welcome to FixYa!
If you are having this kind of problem, follow the steps below:
1)Turn off the computer completely.
2)Unplug the charger from the laptop and remove the battery.
3)Press and hold down the power button for 5-10secs. (this will drain the remaining static charges inside the computer)
4)put in back the battery and plug the charger back.
5)Try now to turn on the computer and see if you will be able to pass the Windows Welcome screen.
6)If still no go, turn off the computer again.
7)Try to boot into safemode. (Turn on computer and once you press the power button, keep on tapping on F8.. You should see a screen that has Windows Advanced Boot Options. It has different options like safemode, safemode with networking, etc.)
8)Using the arrow keys, select Safemode. You should be able to login into Windows in Safemode. You might notice that the resolution is different. Don't panic, that's normal.
9)Once you are in safemode, access the System Configuration Utility tool. Open the link to know how to access it. http://vlaurie.com/computers2/Articles/msconfig.htm
10)Once you have accessed msconfig, click on the startup tab>then click on Disable all>click on apply.
11)Click on the Services tab>put a check on the box that says, Hide Microsoft services>Click disable all>click on apply and OK.
12)it will now prompt you with a restart. Restart the computer. and it will now boot back to normal mode.
13)You should be able now to access Windows. If it is successful, there are just some startup items or services that are having conflicts while Windows is trying to load up.
If you are not able to access safemode either, pretty much you have a bad hard drive or Windows could be corrupted. Try first reinstalling Windows on you computer.
Hope this could be a big help.

Have you tried booting from the original system CD? Another option would be to download and burn an ISO image of Linux Ubuntu Workstation 9.10 Live CD. Try to Boot from this CD. If it boots successfully, it should give you the ability to access your hard drive to retrieve your data. It might also indicate if your system is having a hardware issue. We have installed and run Ubuntu Linux and plenty of these machines with good success... great way to troubleshoot hardware functionality and allow access to data without loosing it.

What size hex key is required to remove the front axle/ tire on my 2008 victory vision? Is it 15mm? Its time to replace tires. Also where can I get one locally?

Go to the auto parts place ... NOT THE BIG BOX ONE ... the local auto parts place ... ask the counter man for advice. He or she will show you where the keys are and probably even let you try it to assure you have the correct one. Expect to payu a couple of bucks for this key.

I'm surprised a motorcycle oplerator couldn't figger this out for his/her self.

Enjoy your new tires. You have kept that 2008 bike rolling, obviousl.

    Turns on but won't respond

IS IT A LAPTOP OR DESKTOP ?
IS THE WELCOME SCREEN THE WINDOWS WELCOME SCREEN OR THE MACHINES BOOT WELCOME SCREEN ?

IF IT IS THE WINDOWS WELCOME SCREEN then format and reinstall windows followed by your drivers and software

IF IT IS A DESKTOP and its the boot welcome screen (MOTHER BOARD MANUFACTURE) the try flashing the bios, look for jp1 its cloe to the battery it should have 3 pins and a jumper. the jumper should be on 1 and 2 leaving 3 free, put the jumper on 2 and 3 for 5 seconds then putting it back on one and 2.

If that dont work remover the rams and flash again

If that dont work disconnect all hard drives and other drives from the board and see if it boots. IT WOULD SAY INSERT SYSTEM DISK

if that happens it means one of your drive is bad connect it one by one until u find which and replace it..

IF THAT DONT WORK CHANGE YOU MOTHER BOARD

    IF ITS A LAPTOP

DISCONNECT THE BATTERY , remove the rams and there is anoter smaller batter on the main board, remove it as well
leave it off for a few minuters reassemble and it should work
IF NOT THE REMOVE THE HARD DRIVE AND OTHER DRIVES and see if it boots

if it does replace the drives one by one to see which is bad

IF THAT DONT HELP take it in to a technician for repairs to the main board
