What part about installation are you having problems with, and what are you installing it on? Do you have both upper (roof) unit & lower ( at ceiling) ? Is it a ducted system or blowing directly from ceiling assy?
Check this link as well , you may find 6300 series is same install.

SOURCE: RV Dometic AC Comfort Control Double EE Problem

I have a dometic duo-therm. The unit works great and fan blows strong and both high and low work., but air is coming out of the ceiling unit rather than the duct work. The bedroom unit works OK, but the air is strong out of one duct, and not much comes out of the others. The front unit only has air coming out on the A/C unit and none out of the ducts.

SOURCE: seal for roof top ac unit

I just spoke with the mechanic at my RV dealership and he said the sticky side goes on the a/c unit. You only have to turn it on it's side to do this. Just wait 1 hour after re-installing the unit on your RV before turning it on.

SOURCE: I have a dometic duo therm roof ac unit that is

It is a closed system, (ends are soldered) that said, a heating and cooling guy may be able to install fill valves and re-charge for you, but make sure you get a quote ahead of time. How old is the unit? Not normal for them to need re-charge, and I've seen them work good for 15 years, if maintained properly. Has it been completely cleaned recently?

13.5 Dometic rooftop rv ac design has changed since I purchased 2006 Monaco Camelot rv. The collection cups leading to the drain line do not fit well on the roof seal and a good seal is hard to achieve. If...

I've not run into the problem your having yet, so I will apologize up front for asking you to furnish more information. These drain cups that I assume are little round pieces attached to the base of the unit where it meets the roof, were not common on dometic, but were common on Coleman AC units. Those are the outlets for condensation to the roof anyway, are they not?
Also, as far as gasket goes, no I wouldn't recommend using 2. We were always advised by manufacturer to compress gasket to half the original thickness when installing either Dometic, or Coleman (RV Products). Coleman at one time, had tabs under gasket that when gasket was compressed, and they touched the roof surface inside, that was far enough, which was approximately half the original thickness. Believe it or not, over-tightening is more likely to cause a leak. Stick with half original thickness, or close to it.

How to properly install roof top ac

What make and Model? You basically set it over framed 14"x14" hole, with clean surface, align it properly so gasket is aligned all around hole, install ceiling assy, inside with 4 bolts that extend to unit on roof, and draw it down evenly until gasket is compressed about 1/2 it's original thickness, hook up your wiring, etc. Are you starting from scratch, or replacing another unit?

How difficult / expensive is it to install a heat strip in a Dometic roof top AC? The unit I have has a mark on the knob for heat, but I suspect it was never installed.

Fairly easy. The only thing that you must figure out is how many amps the heat strips will draw. Make sure the fuses and the breaker switch can handle them. And be aware your electric bills will shoot up.
