Nintendo ds wont charge

When i plug my charger into my Nintendo DS the orange light comes on for about 5 seconds then goes off again. I then take the charger out, plug it back in and it does exactly the same thing again over and over. However, if the DS is turned on, the orange light will stay on. What's the matter with it and are you able to still charge your DS when its switched on or does it not charge at all when on?

That just means it's charged all the way! Is it dead? When you're using it (i.e. it's on) it's sapping the power as it's taking it in, so the light stays on and it keeps charging (which can blow the fuse to your screen BTW). The DS/charger just has a curious thing where even when charged the orange light turns on to tell you that it's plugged in correctly, and then it shuts off.

Cheekiemunke,

First of all, your DS Lite is charging both ways.....with power on and without power on.
You have for almost 99% sure a blown fuse F2 on the systemboard.
If you can solder you can try to replace it with a new one but be adviced, it is tricky if you don't have the skills with soldering SMD components and it can send your DS lite to the trash.
So my advice is find someone that repair DS Lites or order a fuse on eBay and try it yourself.

Regards

John

SOURCE: Nintendo DS charger

Likely not, as the DS Phat and Lite use a special charger that you can get at Walmart or somewhere similar for cheap, although I'd complain about it to whoever you bought the DS from and see if you can get a free charger from them.

Nintendo DS Lite - does not charge

i would suggest trying to find what the issue is, if you know anyone who has a different charger, try it on your daughter's ds. if it still doesn't work, it's a DS problem...if it's under warranty, go to whatever store you bought it at and have them fix or replace it. If you try the different charger and it DOES work, then the only problem is the charger...so then all you have to do is go buy a new charger...hope this helps.

My DS will only play when plugged in

You have a loose fuse on your circuit board, or your charger port needs to be replaced.
I will fix it for you. $30 for the work and I will pay the return shipping,
Thanks,

Ds is fully charged and won't come on.

Does your Nintendo DS Lite still have a warranty? If so, then send it in to Nintendo for repair.

Ds lite ac wall charger

When you first get the DS it will have a bit if charge on it but only a few hours worth. When the DS charges it usally comes up with a orange/red ish light then that goes out about a few hours later when its charged. ad if you want to chek if it is charging correcly turn the DS on whilst it is charging and the little battery simble in the top right corner should show the battery carging.
