I can't delete files off of my mp3 player!

I have had my sandisk m240 for almost a year now and have been able to remove and add files to it easily through Windows Media Player 10, but recently, I upgraded to Windows Media Player 11. After doing this, I couldn't access all of my songs on the device, only the ones in my Record file. Seeing this, I downgraded, restarted, and tried accessing the device again. This time I could access the Music file, but it was empty. Unfortunately, the device wasn't erased, it was just hidden or something because I can still listen to all the files on my device. I tried checking hidden files in it, nothing seems to be on there at all! To sum it up: my m240 can play files on it already and I can add files, but I can't see or delete any of them from the computer. Please help!

thx for trying, but I didn't get me the ?USB Connected? message when I plugged it in, maybe because it is a m240, your steps might not work for my model.

Hi, This is taken from another post, but might work for you as well: 1. Take the battery out of the Sansa player. 2. While the battery is out, plug the Sansa m200 player into another USB port, preferably a rear one or a self powered USB hub, on the computer. 4. If the screen reads ?USB Connected? when the Sansa player is plugged in with no battery, unplug the Sansa player. 5. Hold the "Menu Button" (Power Button) for 45 seconds. 6. Connect it to the computer again (still without the battery). 7. If the screen once again reads ?USB Connected,? disconnect the player and insert a new battery which has never been previously used. 8. Try powering on the player. If the above procedures (power cycle) didn't work, please repeat the process again but now hold the power button for 2 minutes and wait for at least 5 minutes before plugging in new set of batteries.
