I have a similar problem in Word 2003. My autocorrect feature does not save changes to Formatted text after a reboot; it goes back to the previous list, deleting all new entries. What can I do?

Not sure what problem you are having with AutoText. One problem could be that you do not have the show autocomplete suggestions checked off. To do this go to Insert, AutoText, then AutoText, and look for the tab AutoText. Make sure the check box marked show autocomplete suggestions is checked off. There can be other parts of the Auto text that is not working for you and you may be able to look around in the other tabs to find the part that is not activated. If you give me more information I might be able to answer a more specific question.

Auto Correct option is not working in all MS Office Versions

When you install Microsoft Office, AutoCorrect is set by default to try to match and correct a misspelled word with a word in the main dictionary that the spelling checker uses. However, if you want to make sure this option is enabled.

Do this is Microsoft Word:

  • Click the Microsoft Office Button
  • Click Proofing.
  • Click AutoCorrect Options
  • On the AutoCorrect tab, select the Automatically use suggestions from the spelling checker check box.

My MS Word 2007 has been giving me problems for about a week or so. It's part of MS Office Home and Student 2007. The problem is that it keeps freezing up on me and I lose typed text. Eventually I can...

Rename all instances of your document template files (Normal.dotm or Normal.dot). This will prevent formatting changes, AutoText entries, and macros that are stored in the global template (Normalm.dot or Normal.dot) from affecting the behavior of Word and documents that are opened.Renaming the template will let you quickly determine whether the global template is causing the issue.

When you rename the Normal.dotm template in Word 2007 or the Normal.dot template in Word 2003 and in earlier versions of Word, you reset several options to the default settings. These include custom styles, custom toolbars, macros, and AutoText entries.

2. then click Word Options.
3. Click Customize
4. Click Commands Not in the Ribbon in the Choose commands from list,
5. click AutoText, and then click Add.
It will then show up on the top of the Word menus to the right of the Save diskette.

Sidekick lx spacebar

Go to:

http://www.fixmysidekick.com/sidekick-lx-or-sidekick-2008-space-bar-not-working/164/

Or just read this...:

sidekick2008spacebarpicture.jpgIs the space bar on your Sidekick LX not working when you are trying to text or in AIM? Do you have thesame space bar button problem on your T-mobile Sidekick 2008? Does the Sidekick spacebar work in other apps though?
If so then this fix is for you.
1. Open the AutoText & Spelling screen. From the Jump screen, press the MENU button, then select Settings > AutoText & Spelling.
2. Uncheck the following settings:
    • Highlight misspelled words
    • Auto correct spelling
3. Exit out of the settings screen and try it out.
Hopefully, this will have solved your issue.
How to check for misspelled words with these two options unchecked?
Run a manual spell check on T-mobile Sidekick: To run a spell check while in a text field from any Edit Text submenu, or by using the keyboard shortcut by pressing MENU +S.
