Hi I recently purchased a sony wega 36 CRT TV. It has a great picture, but the sides of the picture seem cut of. So the first couple letters of the on screen guides and some of the right hand stuff is cut off. It's not a huge deal but something that should be able to be resolved. Any solutions would be appreciated.

These tv is famous for high voltage it dead or cold solders to it FBT.The flyback transformer,a big black block of plastic with a red wire with a cap hook to the CRT(tv tube).U know how to solders? Take the tv aparts resolders the FBT.Or tries press the power button on/off couples times,if u get a picture.Don't touch it let it on,for three or four hours.Let the heat from the electricity to Amp up the heat, might solved this problems, without resoldering.
If you turn the color all the way off the picture should have good black and white if not the crt is at fault. If it is good it could be the jungle ic or the possibly the red color driver in the crt board
well based on ur info, ur tv has a prolem in power supply section, particularly regulation circuit. the regulator of the circuit seems to be mulfunctioning thats why insufficient voltage is coming out from B+ which in turn goes to high voltage circuits thats why the produced picture is insufficient. if this is very technical to u, have it check with a qualified technician.
