Unfortunately beeps have different codes for different motherboards and unless you know what make it is; you are probably better to e mail Toshiba technical for help as there are no references on their knowledge base. Although this may be a memory fault or a processor/heat problem.

My G570 laptop makes a continuous beeping sound and the only way to silence it is keeping my hand down on the keyboard on the right hand side. Always works but today my screen does not even switch on, I...

Based on what you're explaining, I have several questions before I would even know where to start. Before the current condition (does not function) - was the sound you described as "continuous beeping" a single long tone, or many fast-paced beeps? Were there any other issues in the operation of the laptop - or were you able to use it as normal, except for the sound? In its current state, can you tell me how many beeps you hear before the unit shuts off completely? It's possible, even if the laptop is no longer functional, that the information on the hard drive can be recovered - but let's see if we can get the laptop diagnosed first.

Laptop beep code problem

Hi,laptops beep codes is not so popular and every manufacturer use their own beeps, try these ways:
1-if you can log in to windows so try to get some software from internet to check all hardware in your laptop mother board,
2-if cant log in to windows try to see your cpu or graphic card fan works properly
3-may be its heat problem
4-may be checking battery failed
5-may be some bios data change incorrectly
6-may be dust problem(between your hardware and their slots is too dusty and get them unconnected in somewhere)

try to check your laptop keyboard maybe their is some small materials that are accidentally inserted on the keyboard, but if the unit was still beeping, you might need to ask an actual technician because maybe their is something wrong inside of your motherboard on your laptop. Better to ask the techie person on your area so that they will going to open it up.
Thanks.

Any help for beeping acer laptop when opening..thanks

g'day!

i would like to know how many and the kinds of beeps? there are what they call beep codes which indicates what kind of problem the your laptop is experiencing: here are the common ones:

0 beep = no power, loose card, short
1 short beep = normal,POST (Power On Self Test), your computer is ok
2 short beeps = POST error, review screen for error code.
continuous beeps = no power, loose card, short
repeating short beeps = no power, loose card, short
1 long, 1 short beeps = motherboard issue
1 long, 2 short beeps = video issue
1 long, 3 short beeps = video display circuitry
three long beeps = keyboard/keyboard card error
one beep, blank, incorrect display = video display circuitry

aside from the 1 short beeps, you need to take your laptop to a technician to have it looked at.

cheers mate!

Turn on laptop and it gives the cursor and a blank screen plus a continuous beeping sound.can you tell me what's wrong? Mel

sorry to say but you have Memory or video problems

Do you know what type of bios its running ?

is it one long beep ? or just short continuous beeps ?

1 long beep is graphics card failure

constant short beeps is memory failure depending on motherbord manufacture

It can be fixed by you if its short constant beeping if its the long beep tho it isnt quite as eazy as you have to remove half of the laptop to get to the graphics card

if you msg back with the laptop model number i can look into this further for you
