Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

Unauthorized charger I plug in the charger (that I've used for the last year) and it says unauthorized charger or unrecognizable charger. What's up? Already tried a new battery$$$ and unplugging all and checking connections.

Unfortunately the only solution I know is to get the specific charger for the KRZR. The device's firmware is set to measure the impudence on the USB power line (which is slightly different than a "standard" USB power lead and will not charge unless that difference is detected.

One possibility would be to rip-apart your USB charging cable and solder a small resister into the power lead. You will have to play with the resistance in order to find a working combination.

In lieu of wasting much time and possibly money, I suggest to give-in to "big brother" and just buy the special KRZR charger. I hate being held captive as much as anyone, but unfortunately it's sometimes inevidable.

Unauthorized charger everytime i plug it in.

There may be a problem with your charger output. Do you have another charger you could try?

A temporary workaround is to reboot the phone with the charger still attached. It should now say "Authorized" and start charging.

"Unauthorized Charger"

you can try to clean the charger port (but first make sure its not bent, or broken - the pins are really tiny and hard to see, so make sure)
But try cleaning the charge port on the phone and the charger with denatured (rubbing) alcohol, and a toothbrush -

Just make sure not to plug it in when you do this!

and clean both the charger and phone, make sure neither are bent
lastly, try a new charger!
