Washed out picture

Picture is washed out except for when the antenna menu is called up, then you can see picture in perfect color in the background. just changed out the convergence IC (V19 chassis has only one) also CRT's are snapping or crackling more than i believe they should, probably related to picture problem. Found an electrolytic cap loose on signal board and resoldered. Any ideas?

Sorry, but when the coolant leaks down onto the small signal board, that board will never work right again. The fluid penetrates the board itself since the board is double sided and has many feed-throughs. The fluid gets under the surface mount parts and just eats through the copper traces, part leads and board itself. After trying many times to clean and restore those boards, not one has ever worked right again. The boards are NLA from Mitsubishi, so the set is done.

It' sound like you have a bad crt, to make shure, just disconect the red crt baord and green crt board next to it and move then so you can try the red crt board on the green crt. If it does the same problem in witch I realy thought it's your video or hight voltage sounce on that board. If you get no problem well it's your crt.
I can almost garranty it's your crt.

WHEN I PLUG INTO ANTENNAE--I GET " NO SIGNAL"---BUT I KNOW THAT THERE IS A SIGNAL BECAUSE I GET A PERFECT PICTURE ON MY SONY COLOR TV? HOW CAN I GET THE OLEVIA TO RECOGNIZE THE ANTENNAE SIGNAL?

You'll need to use the Olevia remote and press the MENU or SETTINGS button. The choose the SETUP or MEMORIZE CHANNELS option. MEMORIZE CHANNELS may be in an ANTENNA screen.

When you memorize channels you'll need to set the option for Antenna or Cable TV then have it memorize channels.

The television will run through each channel looking for signal and memorize those it finds. Sometimes it finds a very weak signal and you'll need to manually remove some.

Mitsu ws65869 picture fine in antenna menu only

May need to go to the hidden OPTION menu and do a factory reset. It is done with a 4 digit number code specific to the model number and requires the use of the Mitsubishi remote that came with the set.

craighirman,

try going to the antenna input from the menu screen, then trying to do the auto focus, or manual focus. My Samsung won't let me do the auto focus unless I'm looking at the antenna for some strang reason.

Tv repair

Your tuner (in the tv menu) is probably still set on "cable", but it should be set on "off air" or "antenna". When you first turn it on, it looks for a cable signal and when it can't find one, it automatically searches for an "off air" or "antenna" signal. Once it finds a signal, then it stays on and runs ok. If you shut it off, then it has to go thru all this again.
There is a very high probability that this is your problem (about a 99.99% chance). Just go into your menu and select "tuner" or tuning or "input select" or something in that "neighborhood". Different TVs call it different names, so just put in on the option other than "cable". If you ever get cable back again, then, of course, you have to go back into your menu and set the tuner to "cable. Hope this helps.

Background Color

1) In the Applications Menu on your copy screen there should be a option to turn on or off a background color fill. Turn it off and try. If it still comes out try hitting panel reset. If this doesnt work. 2) You have a bad Image Unit. Change the yellow image unit. 3) You may also have a bad write unit. Pull out the four write units and check the yellow write unit. It may have gone bad in which case it needs to be replaced.

Background

Hi Adrien, the easiest way to set a picture as a Windows background is to open the picture in your web browser and right click on it. A menu box should appear, about half way down you should see an option labeled *Set as Background*. Left click on that option and Windows will automatically use that picture as you background image and tile it to fill your entire desktop. Alternatively if you have Windows XP and use the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer program to display the picture the process is the same except when you right click on the picture the selection will be *Set as Desktop Background*. When you select that option it will do the same thing. If you don?t like the tiled effect right click on the desktop and select properties from the popup menu. In the display properties box that appears click on the Desktop tab, and in the lower right hand corner you will see a field labeled *Position*. Left click on the pull down arrow and select center or stretch, depending on what effect you want. Let us know if you need any other help and don?t forget to rate the posting.
