The security light is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM. (Theft Deterrent Module) The TDM is what tells your computer that the correct key is being used and that it is "OK" to allow the vehicle to start and run. These 3 parts must be in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending important signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, (normally due to a failing/broken part) the car goes into antitheft mode. The car misinterperates this and thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is NOT getting that signal from YOUR specific key. There is where the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. So basically, if that light is on, your system has some sort of failing part. This can start as an intermittent "no start", to your vehicle not running for days at a time, to the vehicle NEVER starting again. The problem is electrical and computer based, so don't count on an easy reset button, or the problem fixing itself. The hard part is isolating which part is the problem. You can spend a thousand dollars through a mechanic very easily. I have had great luck with bypassing the entire system. This way the problem will never return. It actually CAN'T ever return because it is eliminated. This can also be done yourself at a much cheaper cost. Read through this link very carefully. You'll find alot of information and pictures, along with ways to help you fix this.

SOURCE: 2007 yukon xl battery dead recharged battery will

We had the same issue with our 2007 Yukon Denali XL. Died on us twice after sitting for short periods of time; once we watched a DVD with the engine off and battery died within 10 minutes. The dealership kept it overnight to troubleshoot why the battery died so quickly. They said the radio was "pulling" too much from the battery. (They supposably fixed it) But again a few days later the battery died again after sitting overnight. We brought it back to the dealership and they brought in a GMC "expert" to replace the entire DVD/CD/Navigation system. They also replaced our battery with a much larger battery, similar to the ones that GMC puts in there diesel trucks. They had our Denali for 5 days, but it appears to be fixed now.
Getting it fixed correctly wasn't without headaches, but it was all covered under warranty, including the battery. And they are updating the nav w/ the new edition disc as well for no charge.

SOURCE: Replace headlamps 2007 GMC Yukon

It should be pretty easy, thats why there no "directions" Lift up the hood, now at the headlights there should be 2 rods, lift these rods and the lights should lift out, to access the bulbs.

you have to fix the problem with ur brakes- first check the wiring ,connectors and connection clips to the abs sensors and modulator if looks ok than have truck scanned some auto stores such as auto zone / advanced auto do it for free the code will give u a start point towards fixing ur problem--visual inspection of brakes doesnt always show problem

SOURCE: Need to reset oil life

it depends........ if you have controls on the steering wheel or not. If you do, then go through the menu until you see OIL LIFE then hold in the reset button (looks like a backwards "L" with an arrow on it). Hold the reset button in until it reads OIL LIFE RESET or OIL LIFE 100%. If you don't have controls on the steering wheel, turn key on (engine off) and depress the gas pedal to the floor 3 times, now turn key off. crank engine up and see that it has reset, if not try it again.

Something is draining the battery in my 2007 gmc yukon every four of five days. I have replaced the alt and starter

About the only thing I would be able to think of is a light staying on that you don't normally see.. Like the light in the glove box.. or perhaps you have a light that comes on under the hood when you open it, and it's not shutting off when you close the hood. Here's a far-out idea... Has your horn ever refused to quit honking.... and you unhooked the wires coming to the horns?? If so, that is your problem. That's because with a stuck horn, your horn relay is still operating even after you've unhooked the horns. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

2007 gmc yukon my abs and stabiltytrak light came on

Whenever this warning or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module has detected a fault, it then disables the system as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

2007 YUKON WILL NOT START, STEERING WHEEL AND GEARS LOCKED, NO LIGHTS WHEN DOOR IS OPENED

Has this vehicle been left to sit for awhile without being started? If so, the battery may be dead and need to be recharged or replaced. But if your engine cranks that is not the case. It might also be that your security system has been activated and locked everything up (but I thing the door lights would work then). If the battery is charged and okay, then suggest you take the battery cables off the battery for a couple of hours and see if the secutiy system will deactivate. Or check your owners manual for resetting the secuity system.

How to reset the engine light on a 2007 yukon denali gmc

The check engine light is reset with the scanner. You can also try disconnecting the battery for about 1/2 hour and then connecting it again. If there is a fault code the light will come on again.

Warning light says the hood is open, but it's not.

I would replace the switch itself. It is likely dirty or faulty
