Possible that the vent or the vane is blocked which can also be due to a jammed motor in the auto oscillation vent. Remove the panle and check the free movement which will confirm this case. Sometimes it could be dirt that is logged in that prevents free movement.
Hi, I doubt if this unit has charging valves on it as most come from the factory with out them. I am sure it will use R-134A freon, but have you checked to see if your compressor is running and not just the blower? You may have a faulty run capacitor or compressor. They should never have to be charged unless they develop a leak somewhere. You would be better off taling it into a appliance repair shop and have it checked, as they can tell you real fast what is wrong. Good luck, Shastalaker7 A/C, Contractor
Actually, sportsfan, you don't need to add any water. In fact, there is no way to do it. Your unit works much the same way a dehumidifier does with auto evaporation function. In other words, it collects the humidity out of the room air a evaporates it, so there is no water removal on your part involved. While this water is being evaporated, it's also being cooled, so that cools your room. The hot air of the unit running is exhausted out through the window vent kit.

I own the Haier 9,000-BTU Portable Air Conditioner - White. This is the second day that my unit has blow out air that smells really bad. I went to check my unit to find that there was a leak of some sort of chemical that smells like what is blowing from my unit. What should I do?
