Problem:
I am trying to connect my laptop (Acer aspire 6930) to internet using my Nokia N82 mobile phone as a modem. Since I have subscribed to 3G data package services access to the web using my mobile is quick and no issues. Also, I am able to get my mobile phone successfully connected to my laptop using the Nokia PC suite. Having done the required Internet connection settings in my laptop I am still not able to get the laptop connected to internet despite my several attempts. fyi, it got somehow connected once but soon from the next day onwards it was not seen working due to the following error message.
Error message:
I am continuously getting "Error 734: PPP Link control protocol was terminated" upon every attempt to connect.
Tried solutions:
Based on experts advice I tried unchecking the "Include Windows logon domain" under the "Options" tab. also under Security tab I selected only "Allow unsecured password", Also unchecked "Negotiate multi-link connections" under Networking tab.Yet happily the Error 734 always comes.
Queries on other possible suggstions given to try:-
1) - Will running "Registry Easy" (downloaded from www.bestregcleaner.com resolve the problem.
2) - Will turning off my security/firewall setting totally eliminate this error.
3) - Will running an erecovery (of Vista system) (i.e. reinstalling the vista system) erase this error.

Please let me know what is your recommended solution to fix this problem.
Many thanks
Hi dear, if you are facing the error 734 with n82 using nokia pc suite then i think the solution is delete the extra string in phone and modem option which is in control pannel. the path is control pannel>> phone and modem option>> modem>> select N82 USB modem then click on properties>> advanced tab>> Delete the commend. After that delete the modem settings in handset then connect. it works. just try this . . . . .
Same problem I face with my Samsung GT c5212i
I am able to browse internet in the phone but not in my laptop connecting with Bluetooth.
I think you are trying to connect with Bluetooth...
try with Data Cable please.
Multi-link negotiation is turned on for the single-link connection.
The dial-up connection security configuration is incorrectly configured to use the Require secured password setting.
Press Windows + X keys on the keyboard and select Control Panel
Type Troubleshooting in the search bar on the Control Panel.
Click on View all on the left navigation pane.
Click on Internet connection.
Click on Advanced on the Internet connection dialog box and click on Run as administrator (Enter the credentials if required).
Click on Next and follow onscreen instruction complete the Internet connection troubleshooter.
