Sony Vega Digital TV model KD-28DX50 U

TV will not switch on. Standby button flashes on and off. Power to TV OK. Remote working OK. Any ideas?

The symptom is usually caused by a breakdown in the power supply circuit. in most modern receivers (transistorized and/or ic), it may also be caused by a breakdown in the horizontal deflection circuits (hor. oscillator, pre-drive, or drive circuits). supply voltages for the tuner, vif,sif, and vertical output are usually supplied by the horizontal output circuit. but if you doesnt know anything about these stuffs, better bring it to a qualified service technician

I have a 51inch LG TV and never had a problem I turned it off as normal and then tried to turn it on a while later and nothing I only got a red solid stand-by light it don't flash when press side buttons...

Try following the steps below.
Step 1
Press the power button once. If the TV does not turn on, observe the LED indicator, usually located on the TV's lower front panel. If the LED indicator turned off after you pressed the power button once, it is in standby mode. Press the power button once again to exit standby and turn on the TV.

Step 2
Observe the Standby light if the remote control will not work. If the Standby light stays on, the television is in Standby mode. Press the power button on the television, then try to use the remote.

Step 3
Turn the Energy Saving Switch off, then press the power button. The Energy Saving Switch is located on the rear or side panel on most Sony model TVs. Refer to your TV user manual for the exact location of the switch.

We have a Sony KD-28DX50 U digital tv. Since digital retune we have no "event information" after channel 27. Worked fine before. Sony 0870 number in a loop by sound of it.

Problem solved. Tele scrapped. Finally found a human being on one of Sony's "help lines" who said, as it is quite old set, software couldn't cope with large number (198) of digital whatsits. Got a nice, and cheap, replacement from Amazon at 8:30 next day.

Sony Trinitron Wega Standby blinks & the TV won't turn on

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

prolly u need the "D" board replaced--common to give error code of 5 to 6 flashes--unplug and wait to reset and try again

Sony digital tv KD 32DX40U wont pick up digital signal

The tv is a 2k model - I have the same one, digital is now 8k so it won't work digitally anymore.

2K Equipment

All 2K-only products will stop working with the introduction of the 8K transmission mode at switchover.
2K-only set-top boxes cannot be upgraded, but 2K-only IDTVs can be updated by adding a current set-top box or digital TV recorder.

The standby/timer is flashing 6 times on my Sony KP-53HS30 TV

no the 6 blinks indicates a missing voltage. If your talking about a sony lcd KD or KE model you probably have a bad thermal fuse. You must also clean or change the Lamp fan so it won't blow again.

Sony FD Trinitron Vega 2004 Stanby Flashes TV will not turn on

This unit shouldb e flashing a repeated count on the standby light. That count will indicate the circuit in which a problem was detected causig the shutdown. Please post that count and we should be able to provide details on the repair.

Frozen digital screen

Set TV to standby and press Info, menu, mute then power. The set should turn on with the service menu available scroll down until you select reset press right hand arrow next to enter and then enter. TV will turn off. When switched on it goes into Plug and Play mode to reset the analogue and digital tuner. Allow a full reset then you should be ok.
