You can use creative centrale, but I personally wouldn't suggest it. It is overcomplicated. Whenever I transfer music I usually just use Sync on Windows Media Player.
if your pc reconises the zen ,then your there already,, bring up the the zen on the screen, click on browse your media,,then minimize the window,.then open up your music folder and minimize that window,, then u can drop n drag your music in 2 the zen,,or u can load a cd in2 your pc,, and a window pop up should appear, ,saying rip cd in,,, u click on creative,, then follow instructions,, hope that helps
I think alot of people are having the same problem I was. We got home, opened the box, plugged it in the computer, and nothing useful happened so then we installed the mini-cd. Well the thing is windows stops looking for a driver once it searches and finds nothing, and unfortunately those of us using XP do not automatically have the drivers. So...
SOLUTION ------------------ -If you have not already installed the mini-cd, do so, or download from Creative's site in the support section(if you do you might want to grab the latest firmware update) -Once pack has been installed the drivers have been as well, BUT as I mentioned we now have to tell windows to look for them again. -Reconnect your Mosaic -Right click "My Computer" -Chose "Properties" -Click the "Hardware" tab -Click "Device Manager" -A window will pop up and you will see a long list with (hopefully only) one thing under the "Other Devices" sublist. It should be something along the lines of "Creative Zen Mosaic". Right click it -Chose "Update Drivers" -Follow prompts agreeing to search and auto install -Once install is done, in a moment the screen on your Mosaic will say "Docked" -Congratulations! If you have downloaded the updated firmware this is the time to install: -Ensure your Mosaic is in "Docked" mode -Execute the firmware update -Click "Upgrade" -Wait (it takes a moment or two) -Updater will say it is complete -Mosaic will reboot -Click "Close" -Congratulations!
You will need to put the Zen into recovery mode and erase the firmware, then reload the firmware. Follow these steps:
To Erase the Firmware:
1. Get a paperclip and straighten it out.
2. Hold down the Play/Pause button, and put the paperclip through the reset hole. Release the paperclip while continuing to press the Play/Pause button until you see the screen change.
3. Select "Reload Firmware."
To Load the new Firmware:
Go to www.Creative.com/support --> downloads. Click through the navigation and download the latest Zen Touch firmware. Reboot your computer, then plug in your Zen via USB cable. Double-click the firmware icon and then click upgrade.
