Computer satelite speaker dead... How do you open up the satelite to get inside???

I have Logitech THX Z2300 speakers, one of the satelite speakers died on me and I would like to get inside to see if I can fix it, but there are no screws on the speaker to open it up, I was hoping there is some way of getting the satelite opened up or any other alternative solutions to getting the satelite speaker fixed (possibly somewhere, where i can buy a single satelite speaker)??? Thanx, any input would be helpful, Thanks again. Kyle

Hey, Thanks Jeremy, the rubber screws plan helped me out a ton. I did actually end up buying a new set (exactly the same) before I saw this solution. Funny enough, once I got into the speaker I disconnected the wires and reattached/sautered the wires back on; and they work better then when they were brand new, (sadly i tried prying onpen the case before i saw the solution, so the casing is all biten up). But anyways, now i have two sets working like new, i hook them both up to my computer and it sounds DEADLY!!! Thanks for the help guys... Kyle

I had this problem as well, I finally figured out that the rubber plugs that allow you to remove the dust cover are able to be pulled off. Get a pair of plyers and just yank em out, which will reveal 4 discreetly placed screws :). I am having somewhat of the same problem you are however, and opening the speakers up did no good for me, the wiring seemed fine but I still get a rattling or complete silence whenever I exceed a certain volume. Let me know if you manage to find anything out and if you solve the problem, I'd like to try it so I don't have to try to find a replacement satellite. Jeremy

My logitech z2300 left & right speakers have a huge disparity in sound. Frankly, I believe the left speaker is just completely dead, if not busted. I want to know can logitech fix and/or replace it.

Call their customer service. If they want you to pay anything, it is not worth it and go buy new ones. If they are helpful, ask to see what they will do for free. Generally, if it is more than one year, they will not do anything for you.

Logitech THX Z-2300 only one speaker works. theres something wrong with the input. both speakers work fine but the 1 of the inputs on the subwoofer stopped working, causing only one speaker 2 work

try tapping the speaker box in your palm while the speaker is connected. There might be a bad contact of the wires inside. I had to open up my speaker to find that out. i moved around the wires connected to the cone of the speaker and then started to hear music once i did that. it was the left speaker by the way.

Output port for left speaker Z2300

I've been having the same problem actually.

In my situation, turning the volume up and down using the speaker volume control will fix the problem. I only have the faint volume problem at some positions of the dial. turning it up usually fixes it. I'm thinking that opening it up and cleaning it might fix the problem (it used to work with an older set of Creative speakers i had).

If that doesnt work im going to try to get a new remote from logitech.

Z2300 logitech

This is common in these type speakers but usually comes from poor grounding in the computer or in your outlet.
connect the unit to another outlet and run from a walkman or some portable player and see if you get the same buz. Work backwords from there by plugging into the same plug and unpluggin everything else. You will probabbly find something in/around your outlet is causing the noise.
