My T.V is turning itself off after 2 seconds where you can hear sound but there is no picture
My t.v was working fine last night then I went to turn it on today and it won't turn on. When it does turn on, it stays on for about 2 seconds and you can hear sound, but no picture. After the 2 seconds the t.v turns itself off. I checked all the connections. What is wrong? Is it an internal problem?
Hello according to the symtom that you have describe I think that maybe you have activated the sleep function button on your tv and if this is not so maybe there is an internal problem on the main board of the tv.

Sounds like your power supply is causing the problem. Unplug the TV wait 10 minutes, look in the back for a red button (circuit breaker) push it in. If this does not work you have a low voltage power supply fault.
I've also had a popping noise on our 50" LG plasma TV, however the picture has not gone, but has turned grainy and colors are weird. Can this also be a blown fuse or a more severe problem (ysus board or similar)?
U have sound but no picture?Picture does flashes a few sec?Yes,than those 2 long LCD inverter boards are dead.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy those 2 long LCD inverter boards for the replacement.
Most likely just needs a new lamp.
the lamp is easy to replace , google for the lamp to buy one online.
a few screws hold the lamp door and lamp in place.
If you hear the high voltage try to come up and set shuts down in 2 secs it could be your FBT also these sets have alot of poor connections chassis should be resolder.
As far as fixing goes, you might as well get a new TV... Unless its a LARGE EXPENSIVE HOLY $%^# TV, It will cost more to fix, than to just buy a new one, unless its under warranty, which being an older model as that (or so im reading) It may not be covered.
Try unplugging the TV, and while unplugged, hold down the power button for a full minute (yes, with the plug NOT in the wall) after a minute, plug it back in, and try. Its a hard reset. If it still does not work, and you've tried different outlets, It's probably a repair issue, and you'll need to get someone to fix it, or just junk it :-/
This may denote a proble in either your switching powers supply or your Horizontal section derived high voltage power supply. These are both very dangerous sections in your television. My next question is important; do you have a background in electronics? If not I would not advise you working on this problem yourself and that you take the TV to a repair shop for servicing. If you do have some background in electronics, I would like for you to make the following obeservations:
What was the TV doing (it actions)prior to it going out?
Did you hear any sounds before it went out like buzzing or crackling?
What do you hear when you try to turn it on now, clicking?
These questions are just to develop some background into what might be happening to your set.
Thank you,
