Question about Mitsubishi WD Televison & Video
Tv will not power on steady red light stays on
Inspect the lamp first to see if shattered--set has a self check feature also:
Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and getthe regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons togetherfor about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filtercover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cablebetween FMT and Engine disconnected

Hi, have you replaced the lamp after 2-3 yrs of usage? The lamps used by mitsubishi tend to last around 4000 hrs 1-3 yrs.It is common for the green light to light up.Other common failures are the ballast which is the board that powers the lamp.Also check if its not overheatin, dust out the fans.Heres where u can get the lamp or ballast http://www.discount-merchant.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=wd-52631

usually with that model when you get a 34 eror code for lamp abnormality, its directly related to the capacitors on the Power Pwb. You can get the V26 Power PWB repair kit at the following link which repairs that issue. It contains the replacement High temp capacitors with the board location numbers and PWB identification as well as the service manual on CD. Heres the link its under their repair kit ctegory.

that means your lamp it is getting to the end of its life.
sometimes even if the lamp still good the TV will send you that message because that timer is closed to 5000 hours
What you can do is open the lamp door, closed again and the tv will ask you if you replaced it the lamp, and just say yes and that sign will go away
or just simple replace the lamp. 915P020010

Your tv would turn on if you replace the only two 3300µ[email protected] capacitors on the power board . You wil notice they are bad by the way they bulge up at the top and may be leaking electrolyte a little from the tops . But the rolling lines would still remain but much less noticable.Then other symptoms will eventually appear. Truth is many many many many other capacitors need to be replaced inside the electrical chassis. Your TV would need to go to a repair shop that is expierienced in that repair because it is so extensive.
