I installed the GeForce 6200 AGP 8x, system is AMD 2400x, 1.8GB RAM; Windows XP Pro with current update; when I try to play mpeg in media player or real player, pc becomes very slow, cpu usage is 100% and I have to reset. in real player video may show up after 20 min or so. Please help
I am having a similar problem with a GeForce 6200 graphics card. I can't even play Warcraft 3, Which only requires an 8mb 3d graphics card. I have a Syntax Motherboard s661m. I can play Civilization 3 but it doesnt even require a graphis card. I found newer drivers for the graphics card and still nothing. It passes all of the tests except one when I run dxdiag. I am going to look for some motherboard drivers and then I am sending this card back to new egg for a different one. Anyone have any other ideas beforeI do that?

Have you installed the latest direct X9 and have you completely uninstalled the last graphics card driver ad re-started your pc, if you had one previously as this can conflict. There must be a major driver problem as video's can be played on the most basic of graphics card. The only other problem may be the NVIDIA chip is not compatible with the motherboard, as i have had this in a number of cases before and had to replace with an ATI chip based card.

Have you tried something a bit more taxing on the card like a game and see if the results are the same, just to discount the media players as the problems.
Try different card settings and resolutions first, but if not happy try an ATI chipped card.
It's just uncanny that the cards i've had troubles with were NVIDIA and 256MB cards! on different mobo's.

The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-7VAXP, AGP 8x. It does not really freeze when I try to play video, the task manager just uses 100% of the CPU and the PC does not move anywhere. Any thoughts? Should I just return the card for a different one. Any recommendations? Thanks!
... and yes, I did uninstall previous drivers and install direct x9
Thanks. I installed a newer set of drivers for the motehrboard including a new driver for the AGP. That fixed it.
