Toshiba SD 3950SU DVD Player won't read discs

I've had this dvd player for almost 8 years. Never had a problem with it until I played the 1939 version of "Of Mice and Men". It was a brand new disc, and this was the first time to view it. It played fine. When I tried to put a different disc in, the player couldn't read the disc. I tried several different discs, and tried to clean the player as well. The only disc it reads is "Of Mice and Men". It's almost like a setting got changed, but I can't figure it out. I tried to call Toshiba, but after being on hold for more than 45 minutes, I gave up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Magnavox MPD850 dvd player won't play, only display no disc

The problem is in the laser pickup assembly, over time the laser becomes weak until it can no longer read the disc, but you can buy a DVD cleaning kit that might breath more life into the player, if no! cheaper to replace the DVD player.

I have a Toshiba DVD Video Player Model SD 260. I

Hello, The problem could be dirt on the surface of the lens, you can clean this by removing the cover of the dvd player . Gently use a dry cotton bud to clean the lens because the lens is fragile. Insert the disc plate into the dvd player and press play, if it does not play try the second method. Ensure the cover of the player is open, connect the power plug to the mains socket and observe the lens if it beam a red light, Also check the ribbon cable use to connect the lens to the printed circuit board, then gently clean the lens with a dry cotton bud , insert the disc plate and press play to see if it play. If it does not play the disc, then this require a change of the lens
