SOURCE: Hello, I have a Frigidaire

Oven ignitors get weak with age. They may glow, but need to reach a certain amperage draw threshold in order for the gas safety valve to open. Replace the oven ignitor part number 316001810. (note: low voltage can also affect the amperage draw, and thus the ignition, but is not very common a problem.)

SOURCE: Oven won't light on low settings (170), no trace gas smell.

Igniting bar located on the inside of the oven it is a rectangular piece with one or two screws. It is basically a heating element that also controls the gas. Change that ignitor and it should fix it no problem.

I have Thermador PRG366 Gas Range. Oven will not light. I have removed bottom panel and ignitor will not glow. I can manually light the oven, and it will work for a while, then quits again.

your oven does not have a glow coil ignitor it has an electrode and a 3 dsi ignition boards 2 broil 1 bake
your dsi spark coil has failed or you have a grounded ignition wire
you need to call for service
DO NOT MATCH LIGHT THIS OVEN
it has its own saftey device built in it will try to fire and proof flame up to 3 times then lockout to avoid gas building up

Model FGF326ASD. Gas oven igniter glows but no gas there to light. What controls the gas valve in the oven?

From what I can see on the web, all point to a weak "glow ignitor," some says that the glow ignitor can glow and sometimes can even be drawing the correct current but still not hot enough to ignite the gas. Tho one thing I don't understand is how can a ignitor range in price that much... I can find one online for $16 to $50... local appliance part stores wants $70 - $80 for it... and its not refundable...

Igniter in oven will try to ignite. Hear gas flow. Can see spark on upper burner assembly but it does not ignite. Use custom broil and it will ignite the upper burner but will not stay lit after ignition...

the ignitor may be faulty and not pulling enough power to keep the as valve open in order to light them oven, even though it is getting red or glowing the power is not enough.try and replace the ignitor

I have a frigidaire gas stove model #FGF337AWJ.

I went through that once and believe it or not it was the ignitor. Instead of a thermocouple these new ovens use the amount of current going through the ignitor to prove the flame. Seems like after it gets ot a certain temperature the amps drop off enough to cut out the flame and then it will try to recycle. If it is not that it would be the thermostat but they very seldom go bad. I would reolace the ignitor first I think it will solve your problem.

Oven wont light

Mine did that and I found the ignitor for the oven was bad. It was the "glow" type for pilotless ignition and it was burned out. It is supposed to glow bright red and the gas comes on and the oven will light. It was easy to tell that it was bad. But to check it I swapped the broiler ignitor with the oven ignitor and the oven worked.

Frigidaire gas range FGF337

The ignitor should be almost a white hot color very bright . If it is orange or kinda reddish, the ignitor probably isn't getting hot enough to open the saftey valve. you could check the amp draw on ignitor , but most of the time if the ignitor isn't glowing bright almost white , that is probably the problem, besides that if and only if ignitor was good then i would look at the saftey valve. My money is on the ignitor.:)

Re:Whirlpool SF310PKE gas range

When the oven safety valve refuses to open and let gas through, it's almost always because not enough current is flowing through the ignitor. Often an aging ignitor will appear to be glowing pretty brightly but still won't draw enough current to make the valve open. The first thing to try replacing is the ignitor.

You describe your ignitor as "red and glowing" but oven ignitors normally get a lot brighter than "red" -- well into what I'd call yellow.
