There are 4 transistoe c5707 these are used to switch off an on the back light circuit when these go bad thes cause power to do a on off pulse like you described these may be bad but i would bet that the solder hold them on the board is crack a very common issue i have fixed 100s of these monitors with out needing any parts at all they are know for bad solder joints cause they heat up and cool down so fast the the solder cracks. those transistors cost like 1.49 each if they are bad.

See if you can change the video cable and get the same problem. Make sure it is plugged in securely (both video and power cords).

If same thing happens with a different cable try a different monitor. Maybe if you don't already have another one, someone you know can let you use theirs for a day.

If neither option works, it's probably your video card. If changing the monitor works then it's probably your monitor either going bad or try reinstalling the video driver on your computer.

Let me know if anything works, I hope this helps

Screen turns on for a second then flashes off. Just saw a post that said this could be a capacitor problem. The Monitor is the 225bw not the 275t

Hello,

It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitorswillblow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitorsoverheating in the confined space of the monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix the problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work fine. You should find 5 bad capacitors. If you can take a picture or two of your board and email them to me I can tell you what to replace. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and- connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new onethe same way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.
