Zenith xbv442 my vcr part of combo doesn't track well especailly in the begining of a tape and sometimes clears up towards the end or middle of the tape. now i call it tracking but what i mean is the tape will play good thenget very static-ie then snap back and sometimes the sound gets warped i looked through the menus to adjust tracking but found nothing. can anyone help.

I had to tear mine all apart and clean everything and re-align everything. If you arent a pro you may want to take it to a shop or buy a new one.

First unplug the VCR then you can carefully unscrew the screws that hold the body to the base of your machine and you can carefully remove your tape !?!

The DVD works fine but the VCR doesn't play, rewind or forward tape.

l would have a look inside to see if when a tape is inserted it loads and will ff and rew, if the transport that moves the tape has failed it will account for what is happening.

My son pushed something on the remote for my Zenith DVD VCR combo and now the DVDs are ghosting. You can barely see what is is on the DVD through the static.

Hi, it sounds like either the eject button on the DVD player drawer has been damaged or the remote is in need of cleaning (I assume the remote to have an eject button too). you can remove the remote by removing a battery and seeing if the problem stops.
Best you remove the tape from the DVD drawer as this will not stop the DVD mechanism from trying to open the tray, bit like trying to constantly push against a locked door - you will cause damage if it hasn't already.

Can i copy a vcr tape on to a dvd using this player?

the available info shows the record feature only for the vcr side on this vcr/dvd combo. Dvd is only a player.

Yes coming in her VCR with Cable or ant, if she has satellite it would be different. Going out to tv from VCR. Then in is Input the Out is Output. RF cable connection or A/V inputs(jacks) either one same way of hookup.
