Two thing you need to check:
1. Are you replaced genuine carriage belt?.. Original belt having two type of inner tracks.. Right side horizontal & left side vertical tracks. Are you fixed it properly or not..
2. Check carriage assembly play.If it is over play(carriage bushes may be warn out) alignment won't complete, If bushes are available in your country replace them & do the calibration..If not go down how to alter bush. see the snap shot
3. While carriage movement pl check trailing cable flexibility.
Carriage Bush:

SOURCE: Replacement carriage belt for HP DesignJet 800

The part number is; C7769-60182 runs at around $70.00.
This component needs to be installed by a service technician. You can seriously damage this plotter if you remove the carriage ribbon connectors and do not install them properly. You will fry the pca board (a $1,100 mistake).

SOURCE: Replacement carriage belt for HP DesignJet 800 Printer

It is not recommended that the user replace the carriage belt, on any HP printer. Any damage caused by the user, won't be covered by the warranty and will likely result in a completely useless, but very expensive doorstop. Or paperweight..

I do believe your printer has since been discontinued for support, however only an HP Customer Service Representative would be able to confirm that. I would suggest phoning HP for technical support or to at least confirm whether support is available.

Even if your printer is no longer a) under warranty, which I suspect it's not, or b) out of support completely, they may be able to provide you with a list of Authorized Service Providers (ASPs) within your area.

How do I fix? Designjet HP9000 error 1701

System Error 1700: Servo Motor Error

Description:
The Paper-Axis or the Scan-Axis Motor moves the Carriage, but the input from the Linear Encoder Sensor does not change
The easy thing to do is to check the "encoder strip". It's a metal strip about 1/4" high. It runs right to left behind the carriage assembly. Shine a flashlight on it and see if it looks damaged. If its dirty clean it with a slightly damp cloth(water or alcohol will work). Do it with power off. Make sure the carriage moves freely from one end to the other. If the carriage is binding or won't move at all, check the carriage belt for tears or shredding. If you can't SEE anything wrong it probably is the time to call in a trained tech.
The E0800 is a power supply error. You'll need a tech for that too.

On my HP 1050C Designjet I am getting the error 'Check printhead path Type 2. Then it says to switch off.

Hello. The "Check Print Head Path" error is usually a worn out carriage belt on printers more than 5 years old. Open the top cover and examine the area under the belt and look for debris that looks like pencil erasure crumbs. Other possible problems could be the tube system catching on something as the carriage moves, the encoder strip being very dirty or extreme friction between the carriage bushings and the rails they move on. If the belt needs to be replaced, a replacement kit can be purchased at: http://www.lpscomputer.com/c-790-hp-designjet-belt-replacement-kits.aspx
Hope this helps.

HP 500ps showing error is System error 86:01

System Error: 86:01
Problem Description: Carriage-Axis shutdown.
If this error code appeared but was NOT caused by a paper jam, then try the following:
* Too much friction in the Slider Rod. lubricate the Slider Rod.
* The Carriage is bumping into the Service Station. If the carriage
is stuck at the right hand side of the Printer and cannot be moved
out to the center of the Print Platen it is because the Service
Station cannot uncap the Printheads. In this case replace the
Service Station/Aerosol Fan Assembly

There's an error appears. It was error number 86

86.01 can be a couple of issues pertaining to the movement of the carriage assembly.
1. Too much friction in the Slider Rod. Lubricate the slider rod.
2. The Carriage is bumping into the Service Station. If the carriage
is stuck at the right hand side of the Printer and cannot be moved
out to the center of the Print Platen it is because the Service
Station cannot uncap the Printheads. In this case replace the
Service Station/Aerosol Fan Assembly.
3. Check the carriage belt for wear. Check the carriage path for debris. If the belt is worn, replace the belt. Also, clean the teeth on the carriage drive motor, the debris from the belt will accumulate on the teeth.

Problem with Printhead Path

Something (not sure what) is obstructing the movement of the carriage assembly. Turn off the power and remove the cleaners. Push the carriage assembly out and pull/push the belt to move the carriage assembly until you find the bind. If you've recently changed the belt or carriage assembly, make sure you properly adjusted the carriage height.

DesignJet 450C (E-size)

I replaced that belt about a year ago...it took a long time but seemed to go fine. I have a manual "carriage belt installation instructions" its 12 pages long. check out HP website and if you cant find it online, I could scan it for you.
