4x6" paper feed no longer automatically takes in paper for print. If I shove it in as far as I can using another piece of paper, I can get it to print. The rubber spool tht is sopposed to b=grab the paper does o feed the paper in. What is the remedy?

Paper feed problems here too. Right from the get-go. Haven't tried roughing up the rollers though. Thanks, I'll try that and let you know. HP does have their s"SOLUTIUON". Uninstall from PC and leave power on. Unplug fr back of printer for 30-45 seconds and reset everything.

This worked for the rest of the evening, but when I logged on the next day it was back to it's old unreliable self.

Problems with "out-of-paper" warning and still shows out of ink and prevents printing in color even when ink has just been changed.

I have hp photosmart 8250. From day one 4x6 paper does not feed. Is there some sort of adjustment for this paper tray

  • photop Aug 13, 2008

My 8250 printer keeps giving me 'out of paper' message and will not feed paper through. I keep retrying using 3 or 10 or 18 or different number of sheets in tray - rollers won't pick up. On the rare occasions that it does feed through the rollers it is such an effort to pick up paper that it starts to print too early so printing is offcentered and page unusable. Help! What can I do to get this to work? How do you access the rollers? Thanks.

When trying to load more paper, the printer crumples the paper and then gives an error message that the paper is out and more needs to be loaded.

I fiddled with all these solutions and nothing worked. The next day I accidentaly forgot to hit the photo tray button before I hit print and my 4x6 finally printed. I have printed several others with out the photo tray button lit. I hope this helps someone else : )

Rollers need 'roughing up'.
A kit is available from HP.
Was free to me because printer was under warranty, but is a chargeable item.

Well, let's take a shot at this! There is a paper present sensor in these things. I can't tell you exactly where it is, but it will be in the paper path, somewhere. Check for this and make sure that there isn't any dust, paper scraps or similar causing problems. Also, make sure that it hasn't been broken or come loose from it's mounting.
Sure hope this helps!

Paper is not being picked - giving Jan message. I have changed paper to Lazer type whilst frequency has reduced there is still an issue. Machine is about 18 months old.

Can you hear the machine trying to pick up the paper?
Normaly its a paper feed roller that gets dirty.
But if the machine does not attempt to pick up the paper, the problem may be a paper sensor

Wipe the paper feed rollers with a clean rag wetted with plain water. You can also replace the feed rollers, search for "paper feeding kit" for this printer. Should be $20 to $30.

Msg is paper jam when there is no paper jam

I had what seems to be a similar problem and the issue was that the rubber "feet" that grab the paper weren't grabbing anymore. So, I constantly got a paper jam reading. I read elsewhere to wipe some glass cleaner/ammonia on the "feet" so that they become "sticky" again. When I did this, the "Feet" or rubber semi-circle parts that rotate around a metal bar then started to correctly grab the paper again and the error stopped.

Hp deskjet constantly says out of paper. As far

Each printer has a sensor that determines when there is no paper, on cheaper printers like deskjets it tries to feed the paper and when it fials it gives this error. The feeder for the printer is most likley bad, replcaement is the most cost effective solution , repairing it would be more then a new unit.

Reload Paper constantly shows up

This printer is very finicky about paper loading. I see this error most commonly when using auto-cut roll paper. If the paper edge is not cut perfectly straight, and it is not inserted into the printer perfectly strait, it will give you an error. When it does this, you can simply load the paper and press "cut" instead of "pause" when it says "press pause" and it will cut the paper straight. You can also set it to "Roll Paper Manual Cut" and load the paper, then set it back to "Roll Paper Auto Cut."

Show the load paper error

There is a paper motion switch behind the tracter feed assembly that might be stuck. Check that and also clean arround the tractor assembly.

my CX4800 has done the same thing. I ran the utilities dozens of times, replaced every cartridge and it feeds papers the print head moves like it's printing but nothing is imaged on the paper.
Searching the web is my last chance to fix it before i toss this 18 month old printer and never buy an epson again.

We have a Lexmark X5250 All in one. In the last two or three weeks we cannot get it to accept any type of paper. We can put in one or more sheets and when we try to print, we get a notice to load paper....

I have to select -print first then when I get the "load paper" message, turn the printer off . wate a few seconds then turn it back on. I will then feed the paper and print. I may end up replacint the printer.
