This is a problem for the latest release - the GB9. Upon running the install.exe I receive some errors part way through the installation. Twice 'DrvInstall' reports an error 'Failed to Install (GetClassDevs)'. The 'Kenwood Media Application' can then be run, it lists my local library and contents of the 'PD' (the single demo tune), but when attempting to synchronise content no files are transferred although no errors are reported. I assume this is due to the drivers not being installed properly. When using Windows Media Player 11 and scanning for devices I am told that a device is using an outdated driver (I assume it has detected the HD30GB9 but can't use it). The hard drive of the HD30GB9 is visible as a drive letter, and I can copy / paste / modify the files directly as a mapped drive, but none of the songs are visible to the player in its normal 'play' mode. I am using Windows XP SP2, with device connected to a USB1.1 port. Any ideas?

This error usually occurred when the player is removed unsafely from the computer... Make sure to use the "the safe hardware removal ". In order to fix it, try to format the player with the original CD-ROM? it will fix it. Be aware that it will erase every data on the player. sorry. Good luck.

There is often confusion in the way the manual states how to achieve removing demo mode. Because this is listed in the "Menu System" section of the manual and assumes you read from page 1 of the manual that you will know to enter the menu in this section of the manual. Here is step by step instructions on removing demo mode on your unit. 1. Go to standby mode 2. Press and hold the menu button till the menu comes up 3. Press control knob towards AM or FM to scroll through menu till you locate "Demo On" 4. Press control knob straight in for approximately 3 seconds till it switches to "Demo Off" 5. Hit menu button again to exit menu

Solved it myself - It turns out that either Kerio Personal Firewall or Avast anti-virus was interfering with the intsallation of the drivers.
The Kenwood Media Application now successfully transfers songs to the player.
