After starting the machine press all 4 lit buttons on the top of the machine simultaneously for a few seconds. That will reset the volumes to factory settings. Decalcify your machine according to the manual provided with the decalcifying kit and the special nozzle for the milk steamer.
If if that does not work fill the water tank and the (clean) milk frother container with the 50/50 decalcifying solution + water and install as usual for making cappuccino (without a coffee capsule). Turn on machine and when the buttons light up press the large cappuccino button. Instead of cappucino you will get hopefully any of the residue from the entire system flushed out. Repeat until you used up the decalcifying solution in both containers. Discard and rinse a couple of times with clear water in both containers. Good luck - worked for my machine.
It means you need to run the decalcification program - basically run some solution through the machine and then flush it. Full details are available in the instruction manual.
This is a pretty sophisticated coffee maker.. the manual goes into great detail about set up for entering water hardness and descaling messages. There is a discussion about the decalcifying procedure, but none the mentions a decalcifying message.
You should re-read the manual and possibly re-enter the programming again. The manual is available for free, here. Pay particular attention to sections 15, 16a, 20c and 22. These sections are only a paragraph long, but will help explain the filters, decalcify procedure and decalcification tablets.
Hello lsh2, This an easy fix that I am happy to help you with. The solution is 2 parts water to one part vinegar, so if you have a 12 cup unit it would be 8 cups water and 4 cups vinegar. Run 1 or 2 fresh water/vinegar solutions through and when complete rinse with a run through of fresh water.
I hope this is a help for you. If it is, please positive feedback for me. Thanks! NormanZ

You can download the manual for free. Search for the manual.
If you want to decalcify, then you need to get decalcifying solution. The button with two circles is the decalcify mode. Press that, and the unit will go through it's automatic decalcify. There is a specific procedure to best decalcify superautomatic machines. Please search for that.
After this is done, the decalcify message will not appear. It is on a preset schedule, not an actual measurement of how much scale is in the machine.
Although you don't have to decalcify, it is recommended, especially if you live in an area with hard water.
