Hi; your TV has burn screen or traces.it comes from one image left on the screen for too long, it can get burned into the screen, making it visible at all times. You can actually eliminate most screen burns with the use of a PC computer and a black and white screen saver. This trick eliminates screen burn after a period of several minutes because the black and white screens flash quickly, removing all traces of color from the screen. This will eventually eliminate any burned images on the LCD screen. you can do it by creating a DVD picture slide with only black and white image. you can use a computer to make DVD picture slide first go to paint brush and draw only white then save as white.jpg. second burn it into nero or other dvd burner third play it to your DVD player connected to you LCD TV.it has to be played in full screen let the white image display on your HDTV for several hours or even overnight. It should remove any burned-in images or ghosts. hope this help...............

The progressive scan it´s for high definition Tv´s and if you´ve got standard tv need to disable that function

there is a circuit in the color section to put the tv to black and white if the color subcarrier is missing from the broadcast signal.
it is called a color killer and needs to be adjusted.
it is for a technician to do.
it operates off the 3.58mhz color subcarrier.

• Some HDMI or DVI featured DVD players also have an internal processor that can upscale pictures from a DVD to 720 or 1080 lines to provide an excellent picture from a standard definition disc to your HD TV set. Yes there is video format for our TV and dvd players. NTSC & PAL...

NTSC SYSTEM SELECTED IN TV & DVD PLAYER PLAY PERFECT NTSC CDS & DVDS, BUT IF PAL CD OR DVD IS INSERTED SUCH PROBLEM COMES.
EVEN IF, THE DVD PLAYER SETTING IS KEPT AS PAL, AND WE INSERTING THE CORRECT CD OR DVD AND ALSO IT SHOW BLACK & WHITE PICTURE, ETC.... so please check your video system in TV, DVD PLAYER and check the CD or DVD you are inserting is of same video format you have set in DVD player.

Press and hole Scan Mode button for 2 seconds, Y/C will show in front display, use > to change to RGB then press OK.

First try a good quality dvd cleaner. If that does not cure the problem then the video cable may have went bad. Same problem with an older JVC player. One end of the S-video cable was loose. Pushed in in tight and everything ok again. Cheap fix if it works for you.

Check your settings - video format. It should be NTSC for USA standard. If it is set to European (PAL) it will be in black & white. Hope this helps.
