Problems with Whirlpool dishwasher model GU1500XTKB0

Dishwasher began not working with soak and scour light blinking. Dishwasher was primarily used in the quickwash cycle. Dealer replaced electronic control board twice as well as checked fuse and checked continuity of the heating coil. The door latches were also checked. Dishwasher still doesn't work. When you close the door, the soak and scour light comes on and after 15 seconds starts to blink. If you open and reclose the door, the soak and scour light blinks once and then after 15 seconds starts blinking. When dishwasher stopped working there was a -- line in the time display window at the center of the control panel. Each time after service was done we were able to wash one load of dishes then during the second use, the soak and scour light comes on and the dishwasher stops it's cycle, and stops working. We have tried shutting off power to the dishwasher at the circut breaker box twice to see if the control panel would reset but no success. Have tried using the rapid advance service feature and diagnostics cycle but have not been succesful.

I have a whirlpool model GU2548XTPS1 with a blinking soak and scour light. I have recycled the power to the unit, pressed the button several times, held the button in for a few seconds. I have done everything that the whirlpool site has suggested.

Whirlpool Quiet Partner III Model #GU2500XTP - Exact same problem!! Technician said it was the control board, replaced that, lights still blinked. Took the control board out, said it was the keypad, but then it miraculously started working - he refused to replace it since it was a warranty call (now longer in warranty). It's worked for about 2 months and now we are back to a blinking soak and scour light and no response from any of the other buttons. I had this exact same problem with a brand new Maytag in another house, tech replaced both keypad and electronic board, dishwasher never worked well after that (lights would intermitenly light up and work well on occasion.

For the past couple of days, the control panel on our dishwasher has not been working consistently. We press buttons, they light, and then the light goes off. Eventually, if we wait and try again, it may start. A couple of times it has started but then stopped again almost immediately. It seems to be electronic. The dishwasher was purchased in August 2011.

Will these units (silo and jtrip) start back on their own? if so, it is likely they are heating the water.
otherwise it sounds like a logic board, unless there is a defective door switch or sensor issue.
electronics seem to be a recurring problem with whirlpool.
i would ask whirlpool (electorlux) to either buy it back or fix it.
good luck

Clean light is flashing du1145 whirlpool dishwasher, will not run

Hi,

This is a Common Problem. Read the same solution i offered to many Customer's and it actually worked like anything :-

Hi,

This machine was made by Whirlpool and the flashing clean light is a common error code for them.
If the clean light is the one flashing then your dishawasher could have a heater circuit problem (depending on the age) or this could simply just be water colder than it is used to getting.
Repeatedly press the Heated Dry and Hi-Temp Wash(scrub) which ever yours has untill all the LED lights come on, press cancel twice and try the dishwasher again making sure to run the water at the kitchen sink till it is hot before starting the dishwasher, if this trips and locks you have a problem with the heating element, or temp sensor.
Press the heated dry button followed by the normal cycle button, and then repeat once. You should see all of the lights come on for a second or two, and then the dishwasher will work again.
If you haven't already, take a look under the kick plate in front to see if there is a schematic tucked in there somewhere. Whirlpool has put their diagnostics for specific models on these.
I don't have the specific repair manual for you model.
So, if the above combination does not work here are two more that have worked for me.
HiTemp Wash + Air Dry + HiTemp Wash + Air Dry in less than 5 sec
or
Hi Temp Scrub/Scour + Air Dry + Hi Temp Scrub/Scour + Air Dry in less than 5 sec

Let me know, if you need further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

My soak/scour light is blinking and cant get my dishwasher to work. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated on how to fix the problem

generally any time a button continuously flashes, you either have a bad door switch that doesnt recognize door closing, therefore will not start, or the electronic keyboard/touch pad is shorted out, in which case youll need to replace the console assy

The cover of the detergent dispenser does not latch properly and will flip open. The dishwasher is 6 years old and I think we need to replace the dispenser assembly but don't know how to take it off the...

I've posted this before. The latch just needs a good cleaning. In the past, something placed in the washer kept the door from opening properly, which caused detergent to dry under the latch. This has happen several times until I figured it out. Don't block the opening with tall objects. Soak or repeatedly apply hot water and a little brushing and it will be fixed. It doesn't happen anymore.
