My Linksys network adapter is very slow to connect

Ask them to review you connection speed to make sure your getting the speed you ordered. Linksys is usually pretty good. See if it's faster WITHOUT using the wireless (plug directly into the modem). If it is I can only think of two things... Ether you need to relocate your wireless modem to acheive a stronger signal OR if your signal is strong on your adapters end, you could always upgrade to a different wireless adapter that can handle faster conections.

Laptops

Go into your network settings and disable the ethernet and enable the wireless, you can also press Function F2 to enable wireless on a laptop. You may also try setting up wireless connection from the network settings if it still will not connect. Also you should be sure the network is not secured, and that your browser is told to never dial a connection.
