Thank you very much for the solution!
I had exactly the same problem with my Panasonic 51HX40B. After replace the C555, now the TV works fine.

Now C555 part # is ECKW3D122JBR.

I have exactly the same problem. Burnt hole around C555 C556 Q553 components on TNPH0366. I could not find TNPH0366. There is TNPH0365S part ($266), but I am not sure if it can replace TNPH0366. Is there a way someone can post/send schematic of that specific part of the board? I can get the capacitors and try to fix it.

These suggestions were right on target! The first time I called Panasonic, I got nowhere, but then armed with a little knowlege from this thread, I called Panasonic again and order the schematics for about $40 and the 3 suggested parts (C555, C556 and Q553) which ran me less than another $20 with shipping. There was just one tricky part after looking at the schematics, it appears there must have been two generations of boards used in this model TV. Panasonic provided both drawings for both versions. Fortunately, I have the one with the board number PCB TNPH0366 posted by K5Andre so the parts I ordered we correct. The part numbers differ between the two boards should you have the other generation. TV is working just fine after the repairs for nearly a month now.

I had the same problem with my panasonic. Lost picture, smoked, found C555 burnt on PCB TNPH0366. I had a hard time finding schematics. The part could not be identified due to the damage. I called panasonic tech support with my info. Their phone number is 800-833-9626 if you have any more questions for them they're pretty good but it takes a few days for a response. The part number for that capacitor is ECKD3D122JB(1200pf/2kv). Replace it and the TV works.

I have the exact same problem. This is the second time! Fist time brought it in and cost $616 to fix and it only lasted 8 months. They said it was the main power supply. They replaced the Transformer and Transistor (Q553) and capacitor (c555 & c556). Now same problem again!

C552 C555 and Q553 are bad. There may be more. That's a good start.

TV was working just fine.. no issues at all.. turned TV on.. and got a click click click sound... no picture, no sound (other than click) smelled like something was hot. TV is about 7 years old. TIA.....

It sounds like it is time for a new TV, unfortunately. Nowadays you can get a new one for about the same as your repair costs would be. If you smell something burning you probably smoked a circuit board.

TV smokes when you turn it on and no picture

Check to see where the smoke is comming from, the far left side of the unit, it is probably the flyback/horizontal output transformer. The big gray/black thing on the board with the two red wires out of the top of it.Replace the horizontal output transistor (D2348) with a new one to increase reliability. It is the large three leged transistor to the left of the transformer. Use Sony parts if possible.

Smoking tv!!!

Good Day, gongora326;
It sounds like the TV has some type of short in the power or high voltage circuits.
I would recommend that you call a factory authorized service company to come to your home and give you an estimate.
I hope you take my advice, good luck, big IRISH.

No picture or sound

If you had a burning smell, well the board is toast. These sets are made to replace the entire board at one time. Before installing the replacement module, the picture tube should be checked. A defective picture tube ( such as a G1 short) may cause a failure in the power supply section.
