E401 on a 6545 is the RDF (reversing doc feeder) pick up motor or pick up sensor problem. Does the rdf attempt to pick up the original or do you get the error as soon as you press start? Are you aware of how to remove all the rdf covers? The pick up motor has a timing wheel & sensor that need to be periodically cleaned.

Here is the manual, and it states that to get into the router you use admin as the user name and password is blank. I would suggest that you reset the router. The reset button is on the back next to the power connector. Use a paper clip and push the reset button in for about 30 seconds till the lights flash. Then you should be able to log into the setup page and set it up . http://www.dynexproducts.com/skins/skin_1/Topics/Documents/DX-E401_Installation%20Guide.pdf
