similar but not exactly the same - for a dvd you must also connect a line to the parking brake wire that shows ground when engaged

I am sorry to tell you, but this model is only set up for region 1.

I checked the service manual and it only gives region 1 as an option.

If you were able to change the region, it would give the other regions as possible options.

There are some DVD players that will let you change the region a couple of times before it would lock into a region, but this is not one of them.

I work at an authorized Pioneer repair center, so I have access to all of Pioneers service information. I have repaired a few of these exact models and never came across any menu functions that would allow you to change the region.

Despite the not so good news, a good rating would really be appreciated.

It motivates us to answer questions that may not have a very popular answer.

Have a great day and let me know if you need any further assistance.

SOURCE: watch a dvd while driving pioneer AVH-P4000 DVD

Hi Dave
No ....go to a hardware store buy a toggle switch than get a single speaker wire (small wire) attach it to the red wire on the back of your pioneer deck (make sure to leave the red wire in back of deck as well) and attach it to the power on the toggle switch do the same with the black wire (ground wire) the black wire will go into the toggle switch under the power wire. finally install the parking break wire from the pioneer unit to the last slot on toggle switch and this should do the trick if not swap the ground spot for the brake spot on toggle switch >>>> MAKE SURE THE TOGGEL SWITCH HAS 3 HOOK UPS to do this correctly (your system will provide sound with the toggle switch off (Blue Screen) but when toggle switch is on you get video while driving) good luck

SOURCE: problem wirings for Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD Car DVD Player

very easy fix. you can pay thirty bucks on ebay and buy the bypass kit or make it yourself. but the light green wire on the harness has to be hooked up to ground. just hook the light green wire to the chassie of the car and you will be able to see dvds all the time. If you want to buy the kit its not really needed I have a toggle switch on mine just for turning it on and off when I am driving. simple as putting a wire from your chassie of the car(Ground) and then the other from the unit(light green wire) to a switch. hooking it up from Supply to Acc on the switch.

How to wire a pioneer avh-p4300dvd

The wiring diagram for the AVH-P4300DVD is available in the owner's manual. You can get the manual from the Pioneer product support page: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/DVD-Receivers/AVH-P4300DVD . Click on the Manuals tab on the left. The direct link to the manual is currently: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/Manuals/Car/AVH-P4300DVD_OwnersManual121510.pdf . See chapter 17 (page 75 and subsequent pages). Pages 78 and 79 have the wiring to the car. Subsequent pages have the wiring diagrams for use with additional components.

I hope this helps.
