1. go to the number in the phone book that you want to delete
2. simply push the clear button on the phone (also the mute button)
3. then select yes

With Panasonic phones the volume of whatever function is active can be adjusted with the arrows button. While it is ringing use the arrow up or down to adjust ringing volume. When off hook (you can hear dial tone or you are on a call) use arrows to adjust handset volume.
