If each PV speaker is 2000 watts program at 4 ohms then bridge each amp and run one speaker per amp on a bridged channel. One behringer amp bridged to one 4 ohm 2000 watt program speaker. just be careful not to over power the speaker because you will have 400 watts over your 2000!!! I suggest using a limiter or make sure your gain structure is dialed in or POOOF!!! I hope this helps you also keep in mind that the ohms load in bridge can not go under 4 ohms.

Hi,

Maybe you can switch the amp in bridge mode.
I don't know this amplifier, maybe he doesn't like bridge mode with 4 Ohm speakers. That means every side of the amp. will get 2 Ohm. Please check the manual.

Regards,
Gerard

I have a kicker comp s with 4 ohm rating, two posotive and negative conections. and a kicker cx300.1 also with two positive and negative connections, the manual only shows how to wire a 2 ohm sub use one...

Its depends, if your bridging the amplifier, you will be using one channel(the bridgeable cchannel , your two 4ohms subs will turn into a 2ohm bridge one negative out of one sub and a positive out the other one then you conect the neg to pos between subs (ohms Law). To your bridgeable amp channel, your amp must be 2 OHM stable on the bridge channel.

I need to know how to hook up an alpine v12 amp 2 ohm i have two tens

Hi there,

This really depends if your 10" subs are 4 ohms each or 2 ohm - for this exercise, I'm presuming they are 4 ohm each.

You already know your amp can deliver 600W RMS (@ 2ohm), so you need to be careful you do not exceed the maximum RMS input power of your subs.

Normally you would wire subs in "parallel", which would reduce the circuit load to 2ohms - however, the 600W RMS power may be too high for your subs to handle.

In this case, it may be safer to wire your subs in "series" - this will increase the circuit load to 8ohms, which will effectively decrease the amps RMS power output.

Cheers,

I have a sound stream xta 600.2 what would be the best 12" subs to with it

match your total rms output at the resistance you will be running the amp at to the subs.
example:
if your amp puts out 300w RMS@ 4ohms, then it will produce 600w RMS@ 2ohms. half the resistance, double the power.
So now that you know your available power, you should get speakers that will be used to the fullest at that given resistance.
example:
If you have two 4 ohm subs that have a power handling of 300 watts, Then you can wire them in parallel ( + to + and - to -) to get a 2 ohm load (which will be 300w per sub with the above amp) or in series (+ to - to + to -) to get an 8 ohm load. (300w amp @ 4ohms = 150w amp @8ohms = 75 per sub).

Keep in mind: choose the speakers to fit the amp, not the amp to fit the speakers. If the amp has more power than the speakers can handle, you will blow them. and ALWAYS USE RMS WATTAGES.

Hello,I'm trying to conect 4 speakers(Bose 161,4-8ohms,50w each) and 2 speakers (JBL cf100(3way speakers),8ohms,100w each) to rceiver Pioneer VSX-455, I want to conect all of them at the same time.please I...

Well if you look on the back it plainly says speakers should be between 8-16 ohms.

It has facilities for 2 pairs of fronts (A and B) which could be run concurrently if they met the >8-ohm spec.

The JBL's would work best as primary front speakers.

If you wired the Bose in series with each other, they'd work as one surround speaker 'pair' electrically, maybe even sonically if you arrange them across the sides and/or rear. I'd experiment.

You'll need a separate amp for any center or sub speakers.

SWR-1242D wired at 4ohms

Hi!

Having to much power for a subwoofer is a veeeery good thing, it will provide a lot of control and quality sound to your sub.

But this sub is a dual voice coil at 2 x 4ohm so if you want to hook it up at 4 ohm u need a 2 channel amplifier running mono mode.

i dont recomend that you hook up in 4 ohm, its better to take some time adjusting the levels on the amp and the headunit.

This system has the potential to create a realy good bass sound if u tune it the right way.

Is it a good idea

Hi,

Based on your description and on the idea of a single amp, then your plan of hooking up both the subwoofers in series (to get 8 ohms) would be the safest as against running the subs in parallel (2 ohms). This way the sub amp would not be overly loaded, you can compensate the slight loss in power by strategically positioning the 2 subs. A friendly reminder, pls observe polarity when hooking the sub speakers.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Unsureness of wiring configurations.

Mamola,

Get an amp with at least 200 Watts RMS. The RMS value is what is important about driving Subs. This could be proclaimed to be a 1000 Watt amp. REad the RMS value.

Wiring. It is better to series your Speakers to give them and your amp more reliability,

Get a Mono or Bridgeable amp. If it si bridgeable, BRidge the output as described in the manual you get. Some Amps have a diagram right on the output..

AMP+ to Sub1 +
Sub1 - to Sub2 +
Sub2 - to Amp -

Get a 4 Guage wring kit. Run your power wiring down the Drivers side, and Audio signal wiring down the Passenger side, keep the two separate.

Behringer ep2500 amplifier

Yes you can,,,,,BUT the output labelling on the AMP will tell you where you can connect the 4ohms or the 8ohms....please read these labels and connect the 4ohm speakers to the 4ohm terminals, and the 8ohms to the 8ohms terminals...

If you intend to connect the 4ohm and the 8ohm speakers in parallel then the output impedance terminals you use should be the 4ohm ones.

If there is no labelling showing any 4ohm output terminals then its best if you dont use the 4ohm speakers at all....just connect the 8ohm to the 8ohm terminals...you dont mention any crossover networks inside the speaker boxes or if you have tweeter speakers... so just stick to the basics above at present....
