Question about Brother CS-80

F4 Error My machine is displaying "F4" when I plug in the presser foot. It sews without it...But I really prefer sewing with the pedal.

    Same problem--- foot pedal results in F4 code when connected.

    the same problem here. F4 would not go away, continues beeping. don't konw what to do.

    wish we could get an answer for this i have a brother nx200qe as soon as i put in the foot pedal F4 comes up beeping i want to learn free motion quilting and am finding this a bit tricky without the pedal.....please help...

In the middle of sewing the machine made a loud noise and then would not run just chaters when you push the start button its like it is jambed the model is cs80

Where is the reverse sew button to finish off a seam
If this is an older machine, you might not have a reverse button. It's really hard to answer this without knowing what the sewing machine is, but until you find the answer, the best idea would be to stop the machine with the needle down, lift the presser foot and turn the fabric, put the presser foot down again, and do a few stitches along the line of sewing.

: What does F4 error message mean? A: Foot controller disconnected Q: How to fix F4 error message? A: Plug in the foot controller jack if it's disconnected. If the foot controller jack appears damaged, replace it. Replace the foot controller if it's defective. Replace the main PCB assembly if the foot controller is connected and working properly.

Hi,
Try taking your presser foot off and lower the presser foot lever. Does the error code go away? The machine won't sew without the presser foot to hold the fabric down, but without threading the needle, will the machine run without the presser foot? Now try the standard presser foot (usually J ) and if you get the error code then the sensor at the top of the presser foot assembly is out of adjustment. Without knowing more about your machine this is all I can suggest.

E 1 error message
Make sure you lower the presser foot before continuing the operation.

The foot controller was pressed (or the start/stop button

was pressed if the foot controller is not connected)

and the reverse/reinforcement stitch button
was pressed while the presser foot was raised.

How to adjust the tension of the presser foot on a brother sewing machine model ls-2220? I am trying to lighten the pressure of the presser foot for machine quilting.
You are not actually able to adjust the presser foot. For quilting you should pick up a "free motion" foot pedal made specifically for that. They run on e-bay for roughly $10-$20. Make sure you get one that fits your type of machine.

I am getting error message E4 when foot pedal is plugged in. Unplug the foot pedal and the machine goes back to normal with the exception that you really can't sew without the foot pedal.
Your reverse reinforcement stitch button was pushed or needle position was pushed while bobbin winder was moved to the right. You can download a free manual brother-usa.com and you will see all of the troubleshooting and error messages there
