No water or ice from dispenser. The dispenser panel does not operate. The light bulb does not light, the panel LED lights do not work, there is no noise or fuctions when the buttons are pressed. Otherwise the refridgerator works fine--ice maker works, etc. Does not appear to be a clog in the lines. This happened not long after I replaced the light bulb. Could it be the interface disp asm? Or is there something else that could be wrong?

http://www.repairclinic.com/0100_1.asp There's an ice- or water-dispensing problem
The ice and water-dispensing system of your refrigerator is quite complex. Many components work together to provide the ice and water. Aside from a simple problem of a leaky water tube or a jammed ice chute, most other components are not user serviceable. We suggest that you contact a qualified appliance repair technician for such repairs.
Cory, you sound like you have a bad water valve as well as a bad control board for your dispensor. If you've had any storms in your area in the past 4 - 6 weeks, it's very possible that the storm took both parts out.
We have parts for GE as well as mots other major brands, so please give us a call with your complete model number and we will get your parts out to you right away!
We hope this solves your problem and we look forward to being able to assist you with future issues.
first, let us explore the problem with dispenser flap. open the freezer and look into the ice discharge chute. there may be an accumilation of ice impeding the proper operation of the flap. next, you have indicated the light socket is broken. is it just the bulb or the socket itself? if you wish to remove the ice/water panel, first unplug the unit,. then you may be able to unsnap the drip tray where one would sit their water glass. if you are successful in doing this then the panel can be removed with a star driver but it depends upon the fasteners used. Always keep in mind to disconnect power before working on unit. I hope this was helpful.
