Sony 2167 No power on

I have a Sony TV model number KV-2167MT Trinitron. I'm facing problem while switch on from front switch Standby LED blinking while press any switch Like Volume up down, program up down. but power not on. I found 2sd1878,PS801 and F502 crystal (near CXA1213 IC) faulty. After replace all component it work 30 minutes after that transister get short again I change tr. twice but problem is same. Tr. 2sd1878 short after 30 minutes. I check output voltage 110V DC is normal. Please suggest. I have a Sony TV model number KV-2167MT Trinitron. Low level humming is hearing from power supply.

I have not worked on your particular model. But, I have serviced many TV sets over the years. My answer will ge generic.

Check all the capacitors in the horizontal output stage and power supply areas for high ESR. All the caps that are out of spec must be changed.

The high voltage multiplier & flyback can also cause the fault you are having.

You have to consider that the DC voltages are not the only important spec that has to be met. There are also many power drive signals that work with reactive devices. If there is any defect in the critical areas there will be failures.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. How many times do this standby LED blinks at one time switch on? These blinks are fault indications. From the number of these blinks, you can get an idea about the faulty section circuit inside. Blinking of standby light in Sony sets are fault indications. You just count the number of blinks occur at a time, by switching the set ON-OFF by its front panel power switch, not by the remote control handset. Just do it for at least three or four times, count the exact number of blinks occurs there, and inform it to me through Fixya. Through the number of blinks, I can locate the faulty section, of somtimes to the exact fault location. Count it keenly and inform me. OK.

My Sony KDF-50WE655 does not turn on. Only the standby LED Flashes several times and then goes steady green, but the lamp light remains off.

You just count the number of blinks of the standby light before it goes out to green. In sony sets this blinking count ic critical for us to locate the faulty stage. You just count it after switch it Off by Power switch and Switch it On by the power switch at the front of the TV, for at least three or four times, and make sure abut the number of blinks, and report it to me. TV won't turn on, standby LED starts blinking

No Power on Sony TV

Be sure to use an ORIGINAL Sony transistor and be sure to resolder the pins of the small horizontal driver transformer and all parts connected to and around it, and your set should be fine.
