I lost my installation CD

Hello, I have lost my installation CD for my Chic 128Mb Compact MP3 Player MP10 and bought a new computer. I was wondering what I should do. If I should purchase another CD and where I would go to get it or if anyone knows of a website with a free installation CD download? PLEASE HELP. Thanks Amanda

Hi again, Ok everything is good to go but now I am having a problem getting the downloaded and uploaded songs onto my MP3 player. I try to sync the music onto the device from Windows media player but it shows that the device is not connected and when I take it out and put it back in, the same message will occur when I try to sync again. Can you help?
    Thanks
    Amanda
P.s. Groove only shows Flash memory where the songs are but not memory card on the right which I saw on a sample display. Is this a problem?

  • Amanda Jaques Jan 07, 2007

Okay um when I am in groove I can't seem to get the music onto my actual MP3 player. I don't have a memory card on in my MP3 player I was just meaning that when you open the Groove program I saw a sample of the program window showing 2 sides. One was the flash memory side with our music titles showing and the other was read memory card. My program only shows the flash memory side. The strange thing was when I got the songs on the groove program it showed on my MP3 player uploading and downloading but the songs did not actually go on the player. I hope I made this a bit clearer I am basically asking how do I get the music onto the player?

  • Amanda Jaques Jan 07, 2007

okay so it should just automatically download onto the player after I hightlight the selected songs? or is there another step? if you could let me know that would be great. I'm not sure if it is detected I was getting new hardware device found earlier but not now when I plug my device into the PC I just get a noise and no message. So if there are no more steps then I will try uninstall and then reinstall.
    Thanks
    Amanda

Thank you for your patience with me. I seem to be having some major difficulties getting success with this thing. I followed your instructions and after I highlight the songs there is nowhere for me to click okay.I open the file where I saved my mp3 songs and then it just opens in a seperate window which does not give me the option to click ok. Any other suggestions?

Amanda, You can download the Groove application software which contains the driver from the manufacturers UK site: http://www.perstel.co.uk/downloads/GrooveInstall.exe Let us know how it goes and please don?t forget to rate the posting.

According to Perstel you cannot use Media Player to transfer music to your mp3 player, only Groove.

I'm not sure I'm clear on the other question, are you saying you have a memory card in your mp3 player that Groove isn't showing?

    Amanda,

Just to make sure everything is OK, if you unplug and plug your mp3 player cable from the PC you should see Windows recognize the device. If not you should uninstall Groove and reinstall again.

    How to use Groove:

When you start the Groove software you see two panes, the left (the embedded memory or the memory built-into the player) and the right pane (the memory card). Since you don?t have a memory card the right pane should be blank or say something witty like empty.

If you have a memory card you format it by right clicking on the right pane and from the box that appears click on format.

To download music to your device connects it to your PC. After Windows has recognized it find the Download icon on the top of your menu bar, left click on it and a browser box will appear. Using the browser box navigate to the folder were your mp3 are stored. When you open the folder you should see your mp3 in the window, highlight the desired file and click on the Open button. If you want to select several mp3s at once you highlight the first mp3, hold down the shift button and while continuing to hold the shift button down use the up or down arrow button to highlight other mp3s. If you want to remove one of the mp3s in that selection let go of the arrow button, then let go of the shift button and press the control button. Then take your mouse cursor, point to and left click on the mp3 you do not want to load.

To remove mp3s from your device just highlight the appropriate mp3s right click somewhere on the highlighted section and select delete. If you have something unique on your player you want to save on your PC just select the Upload to PC option from the same menu.

Let us know if you have any more questions.

After you highlight your mp3 files and click the OK button the files should upload and show on your player

Lost installation software CD

What type of MP3 player are you using? The first place I would check would be the manufacturer's website for software and drivers. Let me know.
