Question about Bravo OHS-102 Overhead LCD Monitor - 10.2" Flipdown LCD Monitor Slot-Load DVD / CD / MP3 Player IR... Car Video Player
Certain dvds play perfectly yet others just break up and stall!I keep getting contradicting opinions as to the cause. The local Kenwood/Alpine dealer says the laser is out of adjustment or its not stong enough. The store where I bought the unit says the quality of the dvd's are poor. What can I do/try to get my unit to work?FYI only 2 out of 12 BRAND NEW dvds will work. Thanks
Thanks!...I contacted Bravoview. They are giving me the full warranty on the DVD player.Minus shipping of course. Thanks for the info...

There are techs out there that are so good that they can actually adjust the setting on the the laser assembly itself. I used to do it to compact disc players all the time it was just a variable resistor on the laser assembly. Dvd players general have two one for CDs and one for DVDs. What this does is it allow the lens to focus slighly better. But most techs will not adjust them anymore due to the fact that if you have to adjust this from the factory preset. that means the laser is starting to fail. and will eventually need to be replaced anyway.
