Look In the rear bottom where the wires plug into the compressor. There will be a plastic cover plate over the connecting wires. Remove it. Unplug the white wire. note the white wire was plugged into a small black box (3/4"x3/4") pull the black box out. It is connected by 2 prongs. If you open this up you will find a small metal disk that looks like a watch battery. pop it out and clean the contacts. put it all back together and it should work fine. I believe it is the thermostat and many times gets bad contacts and can even crack over time. The compressor will "click" on but the bad thermostat tells it "no"

Check the fan in back which cools the compressor . Also check the coils to make sure they are clean of dust , lint , etc...

You have 2 heaters , behind the inside freezer panel. Both heaters , come together in a kit . This is usually the problem , with magic chef refrigs . When replaceing , use the complete kit with wiring . You will have to put the heater guards , with clips , on the new heaters .

I apologize for being 1 month late in answering your question. I just answered a different post and your question appeared after answering the other post. Having said that here goes.
If the compressor is running reach down and touch the tubing that goes into the compressor. One of them should be very hot and the other one should be much cooler about 2 inches from the compressor. If neither one of the tubes is hot the coolant system it out of coolant probably due to a system leak. (i.e someone poked the coils defrosting the unit or.. there was soldering joint that had a slow leak and allowed the coolant to escape. Make sure to listen for the compressor running continuously vs running every 4 - 6 minutes (thermal overload cycling) If the drier is clogged where the capillary (small tube) connects to it there will be one hot tube at the compressor but no coolant flow.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
