Re: Freezing water in bottom of Whirlpool Gold
Remove back panel inside freezer. you will see a tray at the bottom with a drain hole in the middle and this is blocked with ice. melt ice off with a hairdryer and follow up with hot water till water flows away freely

check that the freezer is tilted back slightly, as if it level or facing foward it will leak out as its not using the drain that's in the back. over time the adjustment of the legs can move or it can block up the drain in the back panel.
Do you have a thin layer of ice in bottom of freezer? If so, its a clogged drain - drain located "behind" back wall in "freezer" side (bottom).
If not, may be a broken or leaky water line or water valve - best serviced by an appliance repair technician... GL

The fan speed can be deceptive. That is why this problem is so hard to diagnose, when the fan starts to wear out the motor spins but not with enough force to circulate air thru the freezer and rrefrigerator. If you have the ability to swap out the fan motor then it should only cost you the price of the motor and components. Approx. $125.00 if you have the make and model you can go to appliancefactoryparts.com or appliancefactorypro.com to obtain motor and components, But if you have to get serviceman to replace fan it will cost you an hours labor also.
