You have to use the Manual exposure mode (turn the mode dial to M). You get no help from the camera's light meter.

You can meter the scene with a separate light meter, or put a different lens on the D90 to get an approximate exposure. Take the shot, look at it on the LCD screen, and adjust.

Can I use Vivitar Mc 50mm F1.7 Lens on Nikon D3200 ?

Vivitar makes lenses with a variety of lens mounts to fit different brands of cameras. If the lens has a Nikon mount then it will work on the D3200. If it has some other mount then it will not work.

I have a vivitar vivicam f314 camera and 90% of the photos i take are blurry.there was no manual with the camera so i was wondering if you could help me with the settings so that my photos are good?thank...

ok try changing the pic size your saving your photos as. 4 x 6 is standard. also the more you use the digital zoom the more blurry its going to get. also the subject matter your trying to take pics of may be the problem. try changing your menu functions to sports or action. i am not sure if this helps any but this seems to be the main faults to blurry images other than dirty lenses or film over the lens.

Hi, I just bought a vivitar vivicam t27. the photos are all blurry. I have never been so surprised by such a bad photo. The camera is 1 day old. Is this a bad camera, or is there a fix for this...

are you zooming to take the pictures. Because this camera does not have an optical zoom. image quality falls apart rapidly with a digital zoom. The lens is small, doesn't have good light gathering capabilities. most likely plastic lens. Unfortunately you get what you pay for.

300mm lens #37614970 what camera does it fit on.

K/AR is a konica mount (not to be confused with Pentax K mounts) - see article
http://photo.net/sony-minolta-slr-system-forum/00UmBi

Usually on Vivitar lenses the last 5mm of mount can be changed / interchanged. What you probably have is the univeral lens, with a Konica K/AR mount.

Thinking of buying a vivitar teleconverter

If the vivitar 2x is not autofocus, then you will obviously give up 90% of the cameras focus, metering and flash functions. All 2x lenses loose 2 stops of light so the f2.8 lens will now be f 8. If that is acceptable then it may be worth the few dollars to get double the power for the lens

Vivitar DVR 550

Problem is not with Vista or the camera drivers. More likely it’s that the camera is set in “macro mode” which is used for taking photos of things real close. On the right side of the camera there is a slide switch, you want to be sure that it is in the up position (Normal).

If the switch is in the correct position, look if the lens is clean. Even if the LCD shows a good image a smudge on the lens will show up on the photo.

be sure batteries are good. pull up on the rewind knob to open film door. load film ,push down rewind knob. pull enough film to connect to take-up spool. close film door. advance film to counter # 1. look through finder and set meter ( push shutter button to turn on meter ) focus subject and fire shutter repeat to end of film. push rewind button ( bottom of camera ) rewind film.
remove lens by pushing button and turn lens left to remove.

Vivitar lens

Can you provide model on the Vivitar and the model of the Rebel? The serial number provided is not sufficient to find exact info on the lens mount. If you take a picture of the lens mount and upload it, it's better.

Best info I can give is this ...

The Canon Rebel is an EF mount and will accept also EF-S type lenses. Once you have the mount type of the lens, you can then locate a mount adapter that will allow you to attach it to the Canon.

For example. If the VIVITAR lens has a T-Mount, then you can get one here. Realize though that old lenses do not benefit from new camera features, so autofocus and other things may not work.

Let me know more info if you can ...

Hope this helps, if so, rate a FixYa! ThankYa!
