Card-Cover Open When I turn my camera on I am given a screen saying "Card-Cover Open". My camera worked fine before this, but I'm unaware on how to fix this problem. Any ideas will be greatly noted.

I have the same problem. When I turn the camera on it says the card cover is not closed, it is closed but I think I busted the latch inside that tells the camera it is closed. Is there anything I can do?

YOU HAVE A BROKE SWITCH
THERE IS A VERY SMALL SWITCH BEHIDE A BATERY DOOR, JUST ABOVE A SIGN "PUSH TO EJECT" THIS SWITCH IS VERY SMALL AND YOU CAN NOT REPLACE SO WHAT YOU CAN DO IS, TAKE THE VERY SMALL SWITCH OFF (YOU WILL NEED TO USE A NAIL OR A NEEDLE TO REMOVE A SMALL PLASTIC SWITCH ) AND THEN STICK A SMALL PEACE OF METAL INSIDE OF THE HOLE (METAL TAPE WORKS GREAT) IT WILL BY PASS A SWITCH.
I USED TO BUY BAD CAMERAS ON EBAY FIX AND RESELL, ANY PROBLEM CONTACT ME [email protected]

Card cover open fe 280

Hi,

You can fix it with a small piece of tape inside the unit where the memory card goes. Just look inside for a sensor or a small button, and try pressing it down yourself. If that works, then maybe a slip of tape over that spot would fool the camera into thinking the cover is closed. If this is not fixing your problem take your camera to Olympus as this problem involves some built in mechanism troubleshooting.

Thank you !!

My Nikon Coolpix S5 has a broken lens; it son't fully close/ open. The message displayed on the screen says "Lens cover error". Is it something that can be repaired? How much would it cost to fix...

Hi , The lens cover error is because the stepper motor in the camera is unable to open the lens cover. I have a solution posted in doc "nikon s5 s6 lens cover error repair.doc"  uploaded on site http://www.esnips.com/web/papputatiyasStuff    It will be helpfull for you. You have written that your lense is broken. In that case you can follow the procedure given in my doc to open the camera. You can replace the camera lens if broken.

Card cover open

Ok, you do not have to do any desodering or sodering. Take the camera cover off 7 screws. Where the switch is there is a white box where the broken switch was. Gentley lift the top of the little box and wiggle it so it breaks off. There are 2 little connectors on each side of the box. bend them up and work the rest of the box off. bend the connectors back where they were, take a smal piece of electic wire and wrap it around each of those posts. I used tweezers. No more "card door open" error. This by passes it.

"Card-cover open" error message

It's when putting the card in.. typically you put it in and it clicks (so to speak).. if you delay removing your finger-push, it does something to the card and makes a Disconnect, although in looking at it, it looks just fine.. and the cover closes... A lot of people are reporting 'door open' errors. The micro-switch in the door housing is quite sensitive and pressure shifts from your hand on the door can cause it to trigger as if the door were opened. some get progressively worse. One fix is to add a little bit of length to the plastic that contacts the switch, either a layer of tape or a drop of epoxy, etc. This may help (or may not if the switch itself is flaky). Another fix discussed bypassing the switch altogether, obviously not for the faint of heart (or cameras in warrantee).
