Question about Pentair Minimax NT Heater

1 Answer

Pentair Minimax NT heater -- panel doesn't respond.

I have the Pentair Minimax NT heater. When I turn it on, the POWER and PRESSURE SW indicator lights up which is normal. The POOL indicator lights up as well. But when I try to push any button on the panel, nothing responds. Can't turn it off, change the temp, etc... I've recycled the power (both inside the unit and outside) but am stumped. Is there a deep level reset for this unit? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Mike.

Update: I held the POWER OFF button for 10 seconds and it responded. However, now when I hit the POOL button, the temp up/down buttons do not respond... Getting closer!

Only the pressure sw light is on. No other lights come on. Cycled on off switch and circuit breakers, yet still only pressure sw light comes on

The indicator light means your pressure switch is not closing therefore the heater will not fire. It can be as simple as cleaning your filter to clear the error and get the heater running again. If the filter cleaning still doesn't solve the issue then the switch itself has likely failed and needs to be replaced. Jump the lead wires coming to it to verify the switch is bad. If the wires jumped together gets the heater going, replace the switch.

Pentair Minimax NT 400 heater. fan keeps coming

Sounds like the controller is the problem. This is the circuit board that has the display and controls on it. You can swing that panel open and try tapping on the white plastic cover the controller is under that. This might get the fan relay to release but you will have to replace the controller it will stick again

My pool heater will not start. The power light is off and the pressure sw is lit.

You must turn on the pump and let water circulate through the pool and the heater before you turn on the heater otherwise you will ruin the heater
